My morning was already not going as planned. My clothes felt a little more snug this morning which brought me more discomfort than what it was worth. Cory couldn't come and make breakfast this morning since he had matters to attend to at his residence. When I arrived at work, Pamela informed me that the printer was broken, and all the computers were down on floor eleven. This building was barely functioning with Chase being in charge. And because of him and that kiss, I've barely been able to think all morning. What did it mean? What did he want it to mean? Or was I overthinking because of my hormones? I shook my head to clear its thoughts and entered Chase's office.

"I called maintenance, they said it take at least an hour to get the computers up and running. And logistics said that they have a spare printer in the basement." I informed him as I dropped a stack of papers onto his desk, "And these are the faxes from Japan. Just some legal stuff, as Pam put it." I huffed, then collapsing onto the couch as I rubbed my back in pain. These stupid heels had no support. I watched as Chase tried to smooth out his ruffled hair, not even looking away from his computer, "Great, great."

I was surprised that he didn't even try to look at me. He always looked at me, even if he was extremely busy. Chase always made the time to look at me when I was talking to him. I slowly stood back onto my feet, and rested a hand on his desk that was in his view, "Is everything okay-"

"Don't you have a prenatal appointment today, or something?" He snapped rudely, "Don't you have somewhere else to be?"

I jerked back, almost disgusted with how he was talking to me, "Yes, I have an appointment. Why are you so mad at me? What did I do-"

"(Y/N), will you just-" Chase yelled, then stopping himself. He released a tight breath and stood, pulling me into a quick embrace before then putting me at an arms distance, "I'm not mad at you. I'm just very stressed and confused." Confused about us?, I pondered to myself. Did he not know what to do now too? "I didn't mean to yell and be an ass." He apologized, then kissing my cheek almost for a moment too long. Almost like he was sad. "But I am very busy, and I have a lot to do before tonight. So please, can you go somewhere?" He said with a sad smile. I decided not to push on what had him so upset and what was happening tonight. I nodded in defeat and squeezed his hand, "I'll go." I felt his eyes continue to watch me, the sadness seeping from his crumbling body. What was going on with him? I carefully left the room, shutting the door quietly behind me. I felt a heaviness in my chest. I ignored it with a rough swallow and continued to take the elevator downstairs.

"-And he was just being so weird!" I laughed, almost leaning off the counter I sat on from laughter, "It's just been so weird since we-"

"Since you guys kissed?" Pamela added with a smirk. She leaned against the counter, her palm holding up her head as she wiggled her eyebrows, "Was it a good kiss? Do you like him? Do you want to be with him?" I laughed half-heartedly and shrugged, "I don't know."

Pamela rolled her eyes and shoved some papers into the filing cabinet and turned towards me again, "You need to find out. Cause I know for a fact, you enjoyed that kiss."

My face grew red as I tried to hide in my hands, "I did. It was a really good kiss! But what if-"

"(Y/N). I don't think Damien is coming back..." She trailed off quietly, "So if you want to be with Chase, go be with Chase."

I bit my lip to stop myself from carrying on the conversation. No need to keep dragging it on. I gently hopped down the from counter and grabbed my bag, slinging it over my shoulder, "Do you want to take me to my appointment?"

I sat patiently in the exam room, studying the posters on the walls. Warmth gathered in my chest as I looked at pictures on the walls. Today, I was finding out the gender. Well, I wasn't, Cory was. I instructed the technician to have them call Cory about he gender. He played on making cupcakes with the stupid icing in the middle with the gender. Pink for a girl, blue for a boy.  I knew already that it was a boy deep down. I was supposed to call Pam after the appointment since she dropped me off. She had to get back to the office.
