A hard pit had formed in my stomach following the weeks after the party. Since then, Damien had been acting strange. Silent and distant. We would pass each other in the hallways, he would stop and turn to me, then something clicking in his head before quickly continuing on his way. It was strange, but I tried not to think about it much. Mia did tell me to stay away. Maybe it really was for the better, to distance myself from Damien as I was causing him tremendous harm.

Although this distance was created, I couldn't ignore this feeling that had driven itself into my chest. I was worried about Damien, worried about what was going through his mind since the party. I was also worried about Chase, constantly wondering what his next move was going to be. Another feeling rested inside my chest, but I couldn't place the word to name it. Or maybe, I was too scared too. Too scared to label that feeling again. I don't think I was ready to feel that happiness and joy again.

"Hello? Are you listening to me?" Pamela called, with annoyance lingering in her voice. I shook myself from my trance and looked back to her, her body leaning over my desk, a hand resting on her hip.

"Sorry. What did you say?" I laughed with embarrassment.

Pamela then rolled her eyes and adjusted the black rimmed glasses that rest on the bridge of her nose.  She's had a shorter temper with me, as of lately. Which wasn't normal for her, but everything had changed since the party. Damien had began to slack off his work, which caused the rest of the pyramid to slowly fall apart. We were running at half capacity right now and Chase was calling all the shots.

"The girls trip." She repeated with a sigh, "Have you thought about the trip this weekend?"

"No, I'm sorry, I haven't." I tried to peer behind her, to see if I could catch a glimpse of Damien in the hallway before him and Mia would head out for lunch, "I'm just not really comfortable with leaving the business for so long, with it functioning the way it is." Pamela used her body to block my view, then waving a hand Infront of my face to catch my eyes again, "The world will not crumble if you're gone for two days."

She was too late, as Damien had just caught the corner of my eye as I jumped from my seat and charged out into the hallway. I approached him, and gently grasped onto his hand, causing him to jump from me as he turned to my direction. He seemed almost surprised as he looked past me to make sure that Mia was nowhere to be found. I rolled my eyes and pulled him into a bathroom, then locking the door behind me.

"(Y/N). We can't be found here, I need to get out-"

"Damien, what is going on with you?" I almost cried, "I'm really worried about you! You don't look like yourself!"

That was true, and he knew it. His eyes were dark and his hair was long and unkept. The suits that he wore which were usually clean and smoothly kept, were now wrinkled.

Damien looked around for a moment before he opened his mouth to speak once again, "I can't really talk about it with you, not here."

"Then how? You are always with her, how can I possibly find the time to talk with you, alone?" I asked with anger.

"I can't be in here with you." He ignored with gritted teeth, "My body, my brain, I just-" He stopped himself and collected his thoughts, "I can't be in here with you."

We looked at each other for a moment before Damien shook his head, mumbling under his breath before he grasped at my face, pinning me against the wall. He kissed me, deeply. I could feel the tears running down his face as he tried to deepen the kiss, try to get more of me. The feeling in my chest ached as I pried him off of my body, him being too weak to stop me.

"It hurts." He sobbed as he pawed as his chest, "I'm hurting, I'm so tired of hurting."

I didn't know what to say. I stood there, voiceless as I pushed the stray hair from his reddened face, my body yearning for another kiss. I extended my arm, putting him at a distance to prevent myself from furthering this. Damien's aura dropped, his eyes hurt and sad.

"You're with Mia." Was all I could say. He rolled his eyes and grasped to my hands, placing them onto his chest, "I don't want to be with her. I want you. I can't breath without you. Please, (Y/N)."

"That is between you and her." I scoffed, "I'm not getting involved until you can solve that with her."

"You don't understand what she makes me do, please understand-"

"Damien? Are you in there?" A voice called out from the hallway with an impatient tone. We were silent for a moment before Damien lowered his head and turned away from me, hesitating before he quietly stepped out in the hallway, his skin turning grey once again.
