Macaque glanced at the Mistress once more. He stood near the staircase, that led to his room. She had been silent for the past two days, since seeing Wukong. Her eyes were always cast downward and the few times she did, she would walk around the dojo sluggishly. It was starting to become an annoyance. Earlier that day he had offered her plums. To restore more of her energy. She turned it down telling him that she wasn't hungry. She had been set free from a thousand year sleep and she wasn't hungry. Bullshit. It was all starting to bug him. She sat on top of his bed, he had offered it to her in hopes that she would just sleep whatever she had going on off, but the bags under her eyes made it evident that she wasn't sleeping. He moved from the staircase to his room. He had to visit her once again, to ask her once more.

"Are you hungry now?"

He huffed, clearly annoyed. His tail flicking up regularly. She turned to him, glancing at him. She muttered a quiet no. Returning her gaze towards the wall in front of her. Her hair stuck to her face, clothes wrinkled and unwashed, she was in complete disarray.

"Look, I know where your wings are, (y/n). There's nothing to mope about, I got this all under control. But what we need to focus on right now is getting your strength back up."

She looked at him, then to her lap where her hands laid ideally. Her mouth was dry and eyes were puffed up. He cringed at the sight of  her. Who knew someone with great power would be crying her eyes out. Licking her lips she spoke, "I've been having a constant memory.." her voice was below whisper, but he managed to hear her. She continued, "Do you know what it feels like..to have a part of you.. taken?" Her eyes began to swell. Quickly wiping at her eyes, the refreshed memory came back to her, repeatedly. Replaying like a broken VHS tape.

It was of her weeping, begging to Wukong to return her wings. Only for him to turn his back to her and to walk away. The background was unfamiliar to her. But she vividly remembers the pain she felt, the hurt.

"You don't do you..why..why did he do it." her voice cracked, he didn't know how to answer. He frowned, lifting a book from the bedside table near him. He flipped through the pages before stopping on a certain page. He tossed it next to her. She wiped at her eyes stopping any tears, he stood a few feet away from her. He exhaled, running a hand through his fur before speaking.

"Mistress (y/n). That's your name right."

She looked at the open page he had thrown to her, reading the name of the chapter to herself. 'The Wicked Nymph'. She looked at him confused. He moved to sit next to her pointing at a paragraph in the book.

"You go by many names, but this is what everyone knows you by."

She looked to where he pointed, the title was something she had not expected. She wondered if she had done anything wrong to earn the name.

"You caused much distraught to heaven, escaping your own imprisonment, hiding out in a forest that you kept secret from any mortals. You kinda lived in you own oasis, that was until you were sought out.."

She looked at him surprised, she had been imprisoned before. What made this imprisonment different from the first?

"Mortals heard of an enchanted forest of a nymph that resided in it, it was said she could cast bad omens, heal the evil and what not. They didn't really like that so they would send humans to retrieve you. But your barrier didn't allow any mortal to enter, so instead gods were being sent. Your power was so eminent that even they struggled to get through your domain."

"But somehow, someone did make it in.." he took a breath and glanced at her. Her brows were furrowed and then she grimaced. "Sun Wukong." He nodded, flipping the page to continue.

"When you heard that someone had entered, you were furious. You fought with him for days. That was until well, the story gets misinterpreted from here with different endings and all. But this one says that, an alliance was made for an immortal peach." It seemed right but she felt like something was missing, it was a misinterpretation of her tale yet it felt off.

"Did heaven seal me after all that time?"

"No. Wukong did."

She cringed, he has taken a part of her and imprisoned her. It was devastating, what had she done to deserve such a punishment. He felt an immense pity for her. Knowing they both had been mistreated and tricked by Wukong. They were one in the same.

"He tricked you after he gave you the peach he made sure you would never be able to leave. You were sealed in an unbreakable crystal, since your first imprisonment wasn't very successful. You stayed like that until I found you."

He closed the book, looking at her for any signs of satisfaction. She stared at her hands then to his eyes. In a swift motion she kneeled to him, placing a hand on her chest. She stared at the ground, eyes hardened. "Six Eared Macaque. Please aid me in finding my wings." Her voice was hoarse yet strong. He grinned, it was all too good to be true. "Of Course, Mistress (y/n)."

Swiftly she intertwined his and her right hands. Her gaze intense boring into his own hues. Green mist enveloped both of their hands, "By the bounds of my soul," Dark lines etched themselves across her arms and chest, "I declare my loyalty." He was stunned at the action.

She saw him as an ally, someone who would get her what she needs. Being released into a world you barley know. No friends, no idea on where you are. She needed him and she knew it. And as did he, this was great! He was overjoyed, he would finally get a chance in one upping Wukong. He would finally be able to set into course the first part of his scheme. Wukong would have no idea what hit him.
