As the clouds dissipated and they plunged into the sea, Wukong swiftly shielded (Y/N) with his body, protecting her injured wing from the impact. As they settled at the bottom of the ship, surrounded by water, they all huddled together for safety. Despite the ache in her head, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over her as they descended deeper into the dark, murky depths. The underwater environment reminded her of the dense woods where she had once lived, evoking bittersweet memories of solitude and tranquility. Sitting beside Mk, (Y/N) observed as Wukong gazed thoughtfully at the water. Suddenly, a crash interrupted the silence, and water began to flood into the ship. Her wings instinctively flinched at the sight, and Mk urged Wukong to take action. With a dismissive remark initially, Wukong quickly realized the seriousness of the situation as the water continued to pour in.

"Monkey King, you have to do something," he implored, his voice tinged with urgency. Wukong chuckled nervously, "Ah, what's a little water? Oh, right, mortality," he quipped, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. Suddenly, a massive beast with mesmerizing purple eyes emerged, tossing them into a sea temple with a resounding thud. As they exited, (Y/N) took in her surroundings, marveling at the beauty of the underwater world. However, her reverie was interrupted by Wukong's voice, drawing her attention to the temple doors as they slowly opened, revealing the dragon of the east.

"Oh, here they come," Wukong spoke nonchalantly, waving at them. "Smiles, everyone, smiles!" he said before turning to the man. "Hey, Ao Wong, long time no-," he was cut off with a sharp stare from Ao Wong, his eyes lingering on the group and stopping at her before returning his gaze to the sage. "You dare to return to my domain after humiliating me," Ao Wong hissed, glaring at Wukong. A materialized dragon stood behind him, and she watched in awe at the majestic creature. "What? The staff? No, but that's a total misunderstanding!" Wukong exclaimed, but Ao Wong continued, his voice dripping with disdain. "And now I learn that the staff is lost. You have given the evil Lady Bone Demon exactly what she needs to destroy us all!" His eyes narrowed with anger. "I should execute you where you stand."

"Wukong will fix his mistakes," she spoke up, her voice filled with authority. Ao Wong glared at her before continuing, "And you've brought a nymph, this is laughable," Wukong's  gaze softened as he looked at her. Rising to his feet, Wukong declared, "Maybe you've forgotten, but I am the great Sun Wukong-" Suddenly, the dragon behind Ao Wong lunged past Wukong, knocking him to the floor harshly. "Do not try to fool me for a second time, trickster! I can sense your weakness. Your power is all but consumed," Ao Wong warned, as sea creature men circled around them.

Mei pulled out her sword, and Ao Wong stared at the emerald blade with wide eyes. "That sword belongs to my brother. You mean to tell me you're a descendant?" he questioned, his tone laced with disbelief.

"Bring the girl, imprison the rest," commanded Ao Wong, his voice echoing through the chamber. As the heavy doors closed behind them, she found herself sitting against a wall in the dimly lit cell. Wukong settled next to her, and she began to slowly flex her wings, hoping to alleviate some of the pain.

"Hey," he began tentatively, catching her attention. She rolled her eyes slightly before muttering a soft hello in response. They fell into an uncomfortable silence as she continued her stretching. Suddenly, she felt a soft texture graze the top of her hand. Looking up, she found Wukong's tail flickering over her hand as he looked away, pretending as if he hadn't done anything. Sighing softly, she decided to express her gratitude. "Thank you... for aiding me," she murmured quietly, acknowledging his past actions. His ears perked up, and he turned to her almost instantly. "Of course! I mean, yeah, who wouldn't... no, I mean, it's you. Of course I would help," he stammered, his words tumbling out in a rush. She couldn't help but half-smile at his awkwardness before wincing again from the pain.

His gaze flickered to her injured wing, and he shifted to kneel next to her. "May I?" he asked gently, and she stilled for a moment, almost afraid. After a moment's hesitation, she nodded slowly, watching him closely. He carefully removed the bandage and his hands grazed over her wing, causing her to bite her cheek and wince. Then, a soft glow emanated from his palm, slow but painless, almost like the warm sun kissing her skin.

She remembered the feeling, the first time he had healed her. It had been after she had skinned her arm during a race they had foolishly engaged in, but it had been enjoyable nonetheless.

"I missed you," his voice barely above a whisper as he continued soothing her pain. The words snapped her out of her thoughts, and she found herself staring at his face, searching for sincerity in his eyes. "I..." she began, but the truth caught in her throat. She couldn't admit to something she didn't feel. It was harsh, but it was the truth. Unable to face him, she turned her head away, avoiding his gaze. "Look at me," he urged softly, his voice tinged with longing, as the soothing sensation began to subside. Reluctantly, she focused on his features, feeling the weight of his gaze upon her. He looked heartbroken and tired, and she couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt. Her eyes flickered between his, searching for answers, as he continued to speak.

"I'm sorry," he muttered, reaching for her hand and grazing her knuckles with his rough palms. It felt as though he were holding on desperately, as if afraid that if he let go, she would disappear once more. Slowly, he brought her hand to his cheek, turning his head to kiss her palm with a practiced motion that spoke of familiarity. Her face flushed at the intimate gesture, but she remained silent as he continued to speak. "When I couldn't retrieve you from your domain, I wished for heaven to fall so I could see you once more. I should've tried harder," he confessed, his voice heavy with regret. Finally, he released her hand, and she stared at him with an emotion he couldn't quite understand—mistrust, perhaps. She thanked him once more for healing her wing before standing and turning away from him, opting to stand by Pigsy instead. Despite his apologies and heartfelt words, she couldn't shake the feeling of doubt that lingered in her heart.

As she stood by Pigsy, her mind churned with conflicting emotions. It wasn't that she didn't want to believe him; it was that no matter how many times he apologized, she couldn't shake the lingering doubt in her heart. Deep down, she knew that she would never truly believe him, and he knew it too. It pained him to see the mistrust in her eyes, but he was determined to win her over once again. He would continue to try, to show her through his actions that he was sincere in his remorse and that he was willing to do whatever it took to make things right. He hoped that one day, she would see the truth in his words and open her heart to him once more.

As a sudden crash shattered the back wall where she stood, (Y/N) shielded her eyes from the debris, waiting for the dust to settle. Through the haze, she saw Mei gesturing for them to hurry over to the vehicle waiting outside. With Sandy already in the driver's seat, Wukong reached out his hand to help her, but she quickly moved past him with an apologetic glance, entering the vehicle without a word. As they settled in, they swiftly navigated past guards and made their escape from the domain of the Dragon of the East.
