Chapter Nineteen:
I rolled over, light peeking through my eyelids. I groaned and opened my eyes. The bed beside me was empty. Sitting up I looked around the room before swinging my legs over the side of the bed and pushing myself up.
I bent down and pulled on a pair of boxers that were discarded on the floor. I ran my fingers through my ran in a half ass attempt to get rid of the bed head.
"Sophi?" I called, opening the bedroom door and listening for sounds of life.
The house was quiet. I made my way downstairs and into the kitchen. I noticed a note on the counter. Picking it up I glanced at it reading it quickly.
Snake,
I went out for some bagels and coffee. I'll be back soon.
Love Sophi
I smiled and put the note down. I stretched and looked around the kitchen looking for something to do.
Twenty minutes later I had finished washing the little bit of dishes that we had. I trudged back upstairs to take a shower. When I got out I could hear movement in the kitchen. I quickly got dressed before almost running down the stairs.
Sophi stood there, her back to me, sorting through the dish rack. I came up behind her, slipping my arms around her waist. I kissed her neck gently.
"Good morning Princess," I murmured.
"Morning," she said shortly.
I frowned, stepping back as she moved from the dish rack to the fridge to get cream cheese and jelly.
"Is something the matter?" I asked, leaning back on the island, propping myself up with my elbows.
She shook her head but said nothing. I watched her as she moved about the kitchen getting the bagels ready. Her expression on her face told me something was deeply bothering her.
I took her hand as she passed me, causing her to stop her actions.
Sighing, she looked at me with a tired expression, "what Snake?"
"What's wrong?" I asked again.
She chewed on her lip, something she regularly did when she was having an internal monologue. Usually about whether or not she should tell me something.
Her shoulders dropped and finally she nodded, "okay. I'll tell you. But you can't flip out."
Now I was nervous. But I waited for her to continue.
"Battlestar has been sending me some inappropriate messages on Skype."
My eyes narrowed, "excuse me?"
I could feel myself shaking. She shook her head quickly, "but I've been ignoring him! it's just getting a little irritating."
"I'll talk to him," I stated.
"No! Snake, we have enough drama with Chey. Please just let this go. For now at least. If he does something more, I'll tell you. Promise. I'm just sick of the messages from your fans, lets not add fuel to the fire. Okay?"
I took slow breaths to calm myself. I didn't want to let this go, but I didn't want to make things worse with the fans. Some of them were still upset with the Cheyenne thing.
Finally I nodded. She gave me a small smile and kissed my cheek.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you too. May I read them?" I asked, nodding to her phone on the counter beside me.
She nodded. I picked up the phone and unlocked it. I glanced up momentarily as her Skype logged in, watching Sophi pop our bagels into the toaster oven.
I heard the ping on her phone signaling that she had gotten a message on Skype. I looked back down to her phone. I saw that the message was from Battlestar. I scrolled to the top of the messages.
They began innocently. Him asking her questions about the stream and how she was doing. She answered them politely and casually. Then they seemed a bit more flirty, on his end.
Battlestar: You have a beautiful smile.
Sophi: umm thanks?
Battlestar: Snake is lucky. But so undeserving.
Sophi: I'm not sure what you mean by that...
Battlestar: I would die to have a girlfriend as beautiful as you.
And he continued for about five more messages about how beautiful she was and how he would treat her like a princess. Better than I could. My blood boiled. But I took solace in fact that she stopped answering.
It pinged again. I gave a low growl when I read it.
"What?" Sophi asked, stopping in the middle of spreading cream cheese on the bagel in her hands.
I shook my head.
Battlestar: I would like to propose something
Battlestar: in the name of science.
I quickly typed a response, curious.
Sophi: what?
Battlestar: it wouldn't be fair to Snake if you were to stay with him but you were meant for someone else.
Sophi: uh huh....
Battlestar: why don't we go on a date? Like I said the name of science. If there's nothing there then we just won't ever say anything. What he doesn't know won't hurt him c;
"Son of a bitch," I growled, locking her phone and slamming it down on the counter.
"Snake?" Sophi asked softly, coming around the counter to my side, "what happened?"
"Nothing. But he's officially stepped over the lines. I will take care of it," I said, not looking at her.
I could hear her type on her phone. She let out a small gasp, indicating that she had read his most recent messages.
"Can't we just ignore him?" she pleaded.
"No."
"But Snake-"
"But nothing," I cut her off, finally looking at her, "he has stepped over the line. Tell him you'll meet him for coffee at Conte's tomorrow. 4pm."
She nodded slowly and did as I asked.
"He said okay," she whispered putting her phone down, "can we please just drop this and enjoy breakfast?"
I gave her a smile and nodded, "sure princess."
