Chapter Twenty One:

Sophi's POV:

I walked back and forth in the lobby of the police station. Chelsea was leaning against the wall watching me. She gave a frustrated sigh.

"Sophi, you need to calm down," she snapped.

"How am I supposed to calm down?? My boyfriend is sitting in a jail cell. And I have no idea why," I growled back.

My head snapped up when I heard a big metal door opened. A cop stepped out, Snake followed him, his hands handcuffed behind him. I could feel tears begin to form in my eyes. Snake looked up, catching my eye and giving me a small smile.

The cop grabbed his arm roughly and pulled him forward. They stood before me and the cop reached behind Snake, unlocking his hand cuffs. Snake rubbed his wrists as the cop turned to speak with me.

"He has court Monday. Don't miss it," He said, gruffly. He walked away, disappearing behind the door he came through.

Snake and I drove back to the house in silent. I didn't know what to say or where to even begin. What was he arrested for was probably good start, but I didn't really want to know. I didn't want to face that this was a thing happening, but I didn't have a choice. If I wanted to be with him and be a part of his life, I had to dive right in.

"What did you do?" I asked, breaking the silence. I refused to tear my eyes from the road to look at him.

"I went to talk to Battlestar," he said simply. I could hear him pulling out a cigarette from his pack and light it.

"People don't get arrested for talking," I snapped.

"I may have punched him and threatened his life."

He said it so nonchalantly and casually. So much so that it pissed me off even more and I wanted to smack him myself.

I ground my teeth together, keeping my eyes on the road.

"What happened Snake? If you're wanting me to stick around then you have to be honest with me. And now is the best time. I'm too busy driving to kill you for whatever stupid shit you did today," I snapped at him.

I could hear him taking another inhale of the cigarette. I shook my head, like he was stressed. If anyone deserved a cigertte it was me. We drove in silence for a few more moments before he finally opened his mouth to speak.

He told me about meeting Battlestar at the coffee shop. When Battlestar noticed him he became nervous and fidgeted a lot. Gee, I wonder why. Ultimately Battlestar had told Snake that he was testing me and that he wanted to see if I was truly there for Snake.

"So after that, we went outside. As we walked to his car we shared a couple jokes, like we were friends," Snake paused to light another cigarette, "and when we got to his car, I grabbed the back of his head and threw it into the drivers side window."

"You're sick," I grumbled.

Snake shrugged. When we got to the house I turned the car off and sighed looking at Snake.

"Snake can you do me a favor?" I asked.

He nodded, "sure princess."

"Sleep on the couch?"

His lips pressed together in a thin Line but he nodded. I got out and headed to the house. Once unlocked it, I went upstairs and straight to bed.
