Chapter Twenty:

Sophi's POV:

I tucked my hair behind my ear, as I leaned against the headboard watching Snake get dressed.

"Snake," I mumbled, behind the thumbnail I was biting on.

"Hm?" came his repply as he slipped on his jacket.

"Do you have to do this?" I said with a groan, dropping my hands to my side.

He nodded, "Sophi, you are my girlfriend. I can't allow someone to try and disrespect you. If I allowed that, what type of boyfriend would I be?"

I frowned, "I guess not a very good one. Just promise me something."

I stood up, coming over to his side, taking his hand, "Promise me that you won't do anything that gets you in trouble. Please?"

"I'm going to do what I have to do. Nothing more, nothing less."

Looking down, I could feel myself pouting. I didn't want him to do something and get arrested or anything of the sort. I wanted things to just be normal and be okay. I should've never told him.

"What?" Snake asked, a puzzled look on his face.

I blushed, I didn't mean to say that last part out loud. I shook my head, "Nothing."

I let go of his hand and headed down the hall to take a shower. I was mid way through rinsing out the shampoo in my hair when there was a knock on the door. I stuck my head out the curtain.

"Yes?"

"I'm leaving," Snake called through the door.

"Okay." I pulled my head back into the shower and finished what I was doing.

After my shower I went downstairs, mindlessly wondering around the house trying to find something to do. I tried cleaning the kitchen and doing some laundry but I couldn't get my mind off of what was going on with Snake and Battlestar.

I threw the most recent load of clean clothes into the basket, carrying it into the living room. I heard a faint buzzing coming from the kitchen. I was confused for a moment before realizing I had left my phone in the kitchen.

I quickly ran to the kitchen, almost tripping over the foot stool. I snatched up my phone and pressed answer, shoving the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I said breathlessly.

"Princess."

"Snake," I said, relief washing over me and a smile spreading across my face.

"Don't get too excited," He said.

My stomach dropped and so did my smile, "Wh-what do you mean?"

"I need you to stay calm, okay?"

I nodded then realized he couldn't see and quickly said yes.

"Can you come pick me up?"

"Y-yeah, sure. Where are you?" I asked, moving around the kitchen collecting my things and car keys.

"Nyte County Jail."
