Sophi's POV:

Tossing my back pack next to the door, I took my hair down as I headed into the kitchen. Glancing at the calendar, I gave a heavy sigh.

"Fuck, the mortgage is due tomorrow," I muttered to myself.

I took out a bottle of moonshine from the freezer and sat it on the counter. I leaned against the counter, staring at it contemplating. I groaned, snatching up the jar, i grabbed a glass from the cabinet and headed into the living room, turning on the TV.

For the first time in a LONG time I had an afternoon and evening off. Maybe this would do me some good to just sit back and relax. I took a sip of the supposed cherry flavored liquor as I flipped through the channels. I had just settled into a marathon of shitty reality shows when there was a knock on the door.

"Seriously?" I groaned, getting up and trudging to the door, "I finally have a damn day off and I can't relax."

I pulled the door open, my eyes widened. There was a jungle's worth of flowers sitting on my front step. I looked around the flowers to the guy standing there holding another two bouquets.

"Uh are you Sophi?" he asked me.

I nodded quickly, "Y-yeah. Um, what are these?"

He placed the bouquets down and pulled out a clipboard form his shoulder bag and handed it to me, "Could you sign this please? It's just you stating that you received the order."

I nodded, still in shock and took the clipboard, signing it and handing it back to him.

"So can you tell me who these are from?" I asked, picking up one of the huge arrangements.

"i believe there is a card in one of these. Do you need any help?"

I shook my head, "No, no. I got this. Thanks."

I gave him a smile and tanked him again as he left. It took me about 30 minutes to get all the flowers in and organize them in a way that wasn't in the way of anything. After I got them in, I searched frantically for a note but I couldn't find one. I gave a frustrated sigh and stood up, going back to the living room.

I fell back on the couch and stared at the wall, trying to think. My thoughts were interrupted by my phone buzzing in my pocket. I pulled out my phone, answering it without looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Hi princess," Snake's voice came through the phone.

I felt my stomach tie up in knots. We hadn't talked since visitation almost 4 days ago. My throat felt dry and I swallowed.

"Hey," I said softly, still bewildered by the exotic jungle of flowers I had sitting in my foyer.

"Did you get my flowers?" he asked.

"Those were from YOU?"

"Yes. I had Cry set up the delivery."

"But how?" I said, leaning forward and picking up the glass of shine and taking a sip. The drink was hot by now and burned a bit more than it had before.

"Cry came to visit me the other day. I gave him the money I had saved up from money orders and stuff and I gave it to him."

"Oh," I said, accepting the answer.

I didn't say anything and we were both quiet for a moment.

"Did you like them?" He asked.

"Yeah. They're really beautiful and I really appreciate them. But, I hope this isn't what you meant about winning me back. Flowers are nice but they get boring after a while."

Snake chuckled, "I'm glad you liked them. But they're not the only thing I have planned. I just please ask you that you keep your heart and mind open."

"I told you I would give you a chance," I said.

"I know," he replied, "But I also know you. You make up your mind and it's hard to change it. I want you to keep everything open."

I sighed, he was right. And I would be lying if I said I wasn't already doing that.

"Alright Snake," I said.

I heard the bell ring and I jumped before remembering I was expecting company.

"Was that the door?" Snake asked.

'Yeah, its Steven," I answered making my way to the door.

"What is he doing at my house?" Snake said, I could hear the annoyance in his voice.

"Calm down Snake, "I said as I opened the door and motioned for Steven to come inside.

"Well what is he doing there? Is this why you won't be open about working it out? Are you interested in him?"

"SNAKE!" I snapped, "Watch it. He was bringing over some groceries, Okay?"

"Hn."

"Whatever Snake, I'm hanging up. Goodbye," I said.

"I'm sorry Sophi," Snake said, "I didn't mean for it to go like this. I love you."

"I know. I'll talk to you later. Bye," I said.

"Bye Princess."

I hung up and turned to Steven, "Sorry about that." I gave him an apologetic smile.

He waved me off, "It's totally okay. Where should I put these?" He held up the bags full of groceries.

"Here," I took one of the bags and walked in to the kitchen, "Just bring it in here."

After we finished unpacking the groceries, Steven asked me if I wanted to get some food.

"I would love to but I have to go to work early in the morning," I said.

I could see that he was annoyed. "Maybe a raincheck?" I offered.

He nodded, "Sure. But If you ever feel like talking, just let me know. I know it's been hard on you with Snake being away."

I sighed, I guess I couldn't hide it from anyone. "Yeah it's kinda hard. Especially since I feel like every one has ditched me. I've had to give up my dreams and all my money I had saved to go back home and take more jobs just to pay all the bills. I feel so alone and it's killing me."

Steven reached over and took my hand, rubbing the back of it with his thumb, "I'll always be here. You're not alone. If there's anything I can do to help you, just let me know."

I gave him a small smile, "Thanks."

He reached over and pulled me into a hug. After I pulled away, I bid him goodbye, promising to text him in the morning.
