Chapter Seventeen:

"Sophi what are you going to do?" Chelsea asked as she placed a stack of my dishes into a box.

I shrugged, taping shut a box of pots and pans.

"I don't know Chels. I just can't afford to live here anymore. I mean I can but it's costing most of my paycheck. I can barely put money aside to save for Jersey."

She sighed, "I just don't want you living on the streets."

"I still have about three days before I have to move out. maybe I'll figure something out."

Chelsea frowned but turned back to the cabinets, taking out my glasses and wrapping it in newspaper.

I headed into the living room to pack up the remaining DVDs and video games from the entertain my center. There was a knock at the door.

Opening it, I saw Snake.

"Oh hey Snake," I said stepping back to let him in the room.

He looked around, his brows furrowed in confusion.

"Where are you going?" he asked turning back to me.

"I don't know. I just can't live here anymore," I said, "it's getting too expensive."

"So where are you moving to?" he asked.

"I don't know," I repeated, "I haven't found anywhere yet."

"So are you just going to be homeless?" he asked, crossing his arms.

I just shrugged, "I have at least three days before I have to move out. I'll figure something out. Worse case scenario I could live in my car or the back room of Milton's."

Snake gave an aggravated sigh and glared at me, "Are you serious?"

I raised my eyebrow, "What Mr. Grumpy?"

"Why don't you just move in with me? I mean, we split rent and everything. Plus, a lot of your stuff is at my house. It's like you live there anyways."

I chewed on my lip and contemplated it, "Can I have a day to think? It's a big decision."

Snake nodded, "Sure princess. Do you need some help?"

I handed him the box of movies I had just finished packing, "Put in this in the garage with ya?"

He took the box and headed down the hall. I sighed and began unplugging the TV and gaming systems. God so many damn wires. So Snake wants me to move in with him? I don't know if I'm ready for that. We had been dating for about three months. It just seems too soon. Maybe I could live with him until I found my own place?
