Chapter Thirteen:

Sophi's POV:

It had been a month since Snake and I had started dating. I had become a fairly regular member on the stream. Red and I had become friends quickly, texting on a regular basis. Cry and I had also become close. We didn't talk as much as Red and I did but we were still friends.

I was setting up a display in the shop window when the bell above the door rang. I looked up and smiled, seeing my boyfriend. He was followed by another man. The other guy was thin and had long brown hair. Much longer than Snake's.

"Hey princess," Snake greeted me as I got up to greet him.

I gave him a quick hug, "hey. What's up?"

"Well I wanted to swing by and see if you had some break time for lunch," he explained.

I sighed and shook my head, "sorry. Chelsea had a doctors appointment so she left early but she's closing for me. And brad is out of town for a funeral."

I looked around Snake at the guy standing behind him with his hand in his pocket. I raised my eyebrow at Snake.

Snake cleared his throat, "sorry. Sophi this is Cry. He's visiting in town for a few days for a convention. He's staying at my house."

I have Cry a wide smile and held out my hand, "sorry I'm so rude. It's great to finally meet you."

Cry gave me a smile and took my hand, pulling me into a slightly awkward hug.

I stepped back and chuckled.

"It's good to meet you too," Cry said, "I'm excited to hang out with you guys this week."

I nodded.

"Why don't I run next door and grab a pizza and we just have lunch here?" he offered.

I smiled politely, "oh you don't have to do that."

Cry shook his head, "it's totally fine. I'll be right back. Okay?"

Snake and I both nodded and Cry left the store. I sighed and looked at the display. It was a playstation 4 gaming station.

"What's wrong?" Snake asked.

"This display is being a pain in the ass. I've done everything I can but I still can't get picture on the tv."

"Want me to take a look at it?" he offered.

I gave him a grateful smile, "could you? that'd be great. I still have to restock the new shipment of Turtle Beach headphones."

Snake nodded, "yeah. Of course Sophi. I got it."

I gave him a quick peck, "thank you so much. I'll be in the back if you need me."

Snake nodded and began messing with the cables. After about an hour of opening boxes I heard the bell out front ring. I plastered a smile on my face and stepped out.

"Hey welcome to Milton's," I said.

"Hey," Steven said leaning against the counter.

I placed the box of headphones on the counter, "what can I do for you?"

I could see Snake watching him out if the corner of his eye.

"Well unfortunately I lost my job at the video store," Steven said with a sigh.

"Awh that sucks. How come?" I asked as I began to unload the headphones and went around to the other side of the desk to place them in their display.

"The video store went out of business," he said simply.

I nodded and turned back to him, "so what can I do for you?"

"Well I was wondering if there were any openings here?"

I thought for a moment, "well I guess we could take another employee. Chelsea would love to have more days off."

He chuckled.

"Just fill this out and bring it back," I said, leaning over the desk and pulling out a application from the stack of papers.

He took the papers and gave me a smile," thanks. I'll do that."

Snake's POV:

I narrowed my eyes at Steven. I wasn't normally the jealous type but god damn he was an untrustworthy person. I know Sophi said he had apologized to her and they we only civil with each other but there was a plan in his evil mind.

I watched as he left. He looked over and caught my eye, giving me a smug smile.

"Everything okay?"

I just and turned around. Cry stood there holding two boxes of pizza. I hadn't even noticed he had come back in.

I nodded and finished fixing the display. Cry sighed.

"Snake," he said sternly.

"I'm fine," I snapped back, "let me finish this for Sophi.

When Chelsea got in to take over Sophi's night shift, Sophi asked me if she could come over. I felt bad for lying to her but I just didn't want to be around her. I was angry and it wasn't justified anger. I didn't want to lash out at her so I just told her that I had to go to bed early since I had to drive Cry two hours to the next city for the convention in the morning.

"I'll be back tomorrow afternoon if you want to come over then," I said.

Sophi nodded but looked disappointed, "okay. I'll see you then."

I gave her a quick kiss and left.

Sophi's POV:

I fell back into the bed and turned on my computer. I was a little hurt at how quickly Snake denied me coming over. I hope I hadn't done anything wrong.

My phone rang and I answered it after looking at the caller ID.

"Hey Chels. What's up?"

"Not much girl. I was just wondering what you were doing? since you're not with Snake tonight," she said. I could hear music in the background.

"How'd you know?" I asked, scrolling through Facebook.

"Uh cause I'm sitting at the bar and he's like five seats from me," she answered.

"What?" I asked, shoving my laptop to the side.

"Are you sure?" I demanded before she could answer. I was slipping on my shoes as she spoke.

"Yeah."

"Where are you at?"

"McDorghteys"

"I'll be there in a minute."

I hung up and stormed out the door. Oh he was so dead. Lying bastard.
