"Butterfly," I froze when I heard a familiar voice. A chilling shiver traveled through my body and I closed my eyes as all the memories flooded through my mind.

Slowly, I turned around and faced him. Lorenzo leaned on the wall, a cigarette in his hands. I gulped while his clouded eyes trained themselves on me. I knew that I couldn't let him intimidate me, so I lifted my chin.

It was obvious why everyone was so obsessed with Lorenzo Maxwell. I understood why people wrote books about him and set him as their background on their phones. He was unearthly, he was godlike. He stood with dominance and that was the difference between us. Based on his signature slow smirks he would give, anyone could see he was confident.

"Why are you doing here?" He asked, his jaw twitching slightly. "What are you doing here with him?"

I almost couldn't believe he was actually asking me that. He actually had the audacity to go there.

"It's none of your business," I said, crossing my arms.
He chuckled and it was enough for me to feel a shiver down my back. My hands began to grow sweaty but I cleared my throat and kept my composure.

"Raquel, don't fuck with me,"

"Why?" I asked while my eyebrows furrowed together. "You're with Kiana but when I decide to have some fun, it's a problem?"

"Well congratulations," He began clapping, almost like he was mocking me. "Your plan worked. You've caught my attention,"

"Are you serious right now? Did you honestly think I would use Ryan to make you jealous? I didn't even know you were going to be here,"

When I finished speaking, I was out of breath and my heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest. For the first time, my eyes weren't growing blurry and I didn't feel the need to cry. Over the past few weeks, I had built up my walls, and the pain that he brought me didn't affect me as much.

"Right," He mumbled, sarcastically.

"Why did you follow me here?" I asked, trying to hide the fact that I was deeply affected by his presence.

"Just wondering how long it will take before he's in between your legs," He said, keeping his gaze on the cigarette.

Looking down at my fingers, I replay his words over and over again. I kept repeating to myself there wasn't anything wrong with me, it was Lorenzo who was the problem. His eyes didn't connect with mine when he said that and I wondered if he was being truthful to me. I don't know why he was so mean to me all of sudden, especially with everything that happened in Kiana's apartment.
