Psychokinesis (Dazai x Reader)

Chapter 7: bouquet of flowers

As he entered the room and closed the door behind him, I could feel my heart beating quicker than a second ago. Am I nervous to see him after saving his life?

Dazai: How are you, Y/N?

He asked as he placed the bento box he brought on the table.. and a bouquet of flowers? Why does he even have that, It's probably for someone else, no? 

"I'm okay, It's hard to move my body though" I replied while trying to sit up from my hospital bed.

Dazai: Oh, you don't have to sit up, just rest your body. It's injured because you tried to save me.

"Oh, about that.."

Dazai: Tell me Y/N, Why'd you save me when you should've saved yourself? 

At that moment, I realized something that completely caught me off guard. He stopped my ability easily before so he could've done the same. Please tell me I'm wrong. 

"..my ability was nullified the moment it touched you, didn't it?"

Dazai: Yes, I can't really deacti-

"So you're saying what I did was useless? that I almost died for nothing?"

Dazai: Not nothing! I'm alive and well right now, you see. And it's partly thanks to you so don't feel bad. 

"Sh-shut up! I don't even know why I did it. I acted on a whim, Chuuya was right, I'm such a fool"

Dazai: I'm sorry you tried to save me back there but my ability stopped it.. and you became unconscious soon after you tried. 

Why's he apologizing? I said those things cus I was mad but I didn't really mean it. I just realized how stupid I must've looked trying to save someone when I can't even look after myself. And to top that off, it didn't even help Dazai get out of the flames at all. Makes me wonder how is he alive right now. 

"Okay, I'm sorry for yelling. I'm just tired"

Dazai: you look pretty even when you're tired. 

"tch, what? oh get out, you jerk" I snickered and sighed. 

Dazai: I brought you a bento box from that ramen shop you like. It's not ramen though but rice cus I was worried it would spill. 

"wow, thank you. This better not be a meal bought from your co-worker's money again."

Dazai: hm? Oh no, this time, I want to be the one to give you a delicious meal. 

He smiled after gently picking up the bento and giving it to me. Has he always been this thoughtful? He's so hard to read. 

Dazai: Anyways, I have to go. Get well soon, please?

Oh man, he's really something else. WAIT A SEC, THE BOUQUET! 

I grabbed the flower bouquet to return it to him after leaving my room, but a tiny card attached to it touched my hand and upon reading it, I realized it was indeed for me. 

Thanks for trying to save me, no one has ever done that before and the people who did has left my life. Get well soon so we could eat ramen again! (kunikida hid his wallet from me but I can find it, it's me after all)
