Chapter 24: Take charge

Y/N'S POV

Seeing his face after a long time really caught me off guard. I was speechless and I couldn't bring myself to greet him.

Chuuya: Y/N, it's nice to see you again.

Nice to see me again? Am I his high school friend? I scoffed. Even though he was my mentor and an older person than me, I couldn't help but take a step back and avoid him.

Chuuya: Can we talk later?

"I suppose" I answered, only looking at his gloves.

Gin: Y/N..

"Gin.." I teared up as Gin uttered my name, she rarely speaks and the moment I saw her, all my frustrations just wafted away and all I wanted to do was hug her and know what's going on with her life recently.

Gin: Sorry for everything.

"No, it wasn't your fault. I'm glad you're okay" We hugged for a few minutes and smiled, seeing how the Port Mafia members aren't injured nor ill somehow comforts me.

Dazai: I'm sure you all are aware of the reason we brought you here.

Chuuya: Of course, we know. You idiot. 

Kunikida: First of all, we would like to formally thank you for cooperating. I know the mafia has a lot on the line right now and even your boss were against working with us so you're all on thin ice just being here. 

Fukuzawa: I'll deal with Mori. Right now, our top priority is to stop Fyodor so we could all go back to our normal lives. 

I could feel Chuuya's gaze, I hate to admit it but I felt bad for the way I treated him earlier. Once again, I let my emotions get the best of me.

Akutagawa: Dazai senpai, I'll make sure to finish him and do my job properly. 

Atsushi: so intense.. 

Akutagawa: Don't get in my way, weretiger. 

What's with those two?

Dazai: Okay, Ranpo deduced that Fyodor is nearby and is about to do something. I figured he would most likely kidnap a user from the agency and forcefully remove his/her abilities so we will play his game. 

Chuuya: So you're saying we should fall right into his trap? You buffoon. 

Dazai: He is unpredictable. You will, undoubtedly win in a physical fight with him but he won't even bother to get in one to achieve his goal. 

Ah, what an unscrupulous guy. He really is something if manages to win without battling with the strongest fighters here, not to mention Akutagawa seems more fired up than usual.

Dazai: I will go and find that ability user who can remove abilities. You and Akutagawa stand by and wait till Fyodor tries to take someone, he won't be here, instead he will send someone so your job is to take down the men he'll send. 

Chuuya: How are you so sure that he won't appear?

Dazai: Cus I'd do the same. While you and Akutagawa take care of those men, Kunikida-kun, Atsushi and Kenji will go after Fyodor himself with the help of Ranpo's deduction. 

Kunikida: Got it, the rest of the Port Mafia and ADA members will stay here in case Fyodor has other tricks planned.

Dazai: Oh, he does. 

Dazai glanced at me, he had this worried look that I don't see him do for anyone else. I could sense that he wanted me to stay behind with Gin but it would be a waste not to use my ability to help. Ranpo did once tell me that my ability is almost as powerful as mind control though I doubt I can easily master this ability but I'll try. 

"Dazai, can I come with you?" 

He sighed, walking towards me and then smiling like a cute puppy dog which is ironic because he disliked dogs. 

Dazai: As much as I want to keep you safe, I also want you beside me. If you're sure you want to come then I won't say no. 

"I'm sure. Take me with you wherever you go" I said, forgetting that we were surrounded by people. My face heated up but I quickly acted professional but maybe that looked more suspicious, considering that Gin was snickering beside me. 

Fukuzawa: Excellent job. Everyone, disperse.
