AUTUMN was by far my favorite season in the year. It was not too hot, not too cold and everything was covered in a beautiful layer of red and orange leafs. An amazing sight. And just to add to it — Halloween was not far away anymore.Being a person with a very huge liking of the stories that were all about the spooky tales of vampires and werewolves, things couldn't get any better.
Although this year was different — this year, I was not only reading about those myths that the one or other would like to become reality.
Because this year — they did.
❝ I would like to take your fear away from you, as if it's only half as bad ❞
Walking down the hallway of my Highschool like every other day, it was finally nearing its end when I was about to enter the last period. Students stood left and right, talking and laughing in their small groups of friends when one of them caught most of their attention. The group of three students that had just joined not too long ago and were already the talk of the school.
I didn't knew their names, neither did I intended to learn them when it appeared that aside from all the other boys, I was not interested in getting close to them. They sure were handsome, there was no denying it, but the chilly aura they possessed had me at a distance. Their blood drained faces and empty eyes said enough — but it was exactly that what appeared to be so attracting to all the other girls.
I let out a sigh once I entered my classroom, sitting at the window seat like the main character I was and staring out at the beautiful trees that lingered around the building. It didn't took long till our history teacher walked inside and started the lesson without much distraction, going right into the theme that I could definitely care less about.
It was only then that I noticed one of the three probably most attractive people at school was sitting in the front row and surprisingly taking part on the lesson — what was something I wouldn't have expected of someone like him. I know, judging people is a bad thing, but it was something you couldn't control that much.
The boy who's name I unintentionally learned through the teacher calling out to him whenever he had something to say — what apparently was
Chan — knew more about history than our teacher himself and it was fun to watch how the student had corrected the elder more than just once, causing me to slightly chuckle at one point.Although I quickly stopped once I noticed that Chan must have heard, looking back at me with an expression that left me confused — he looked almost shocked for a single second before turning to the front again. It was as if he recognized me from somewhere, although I had no idea if I have ever met him before. Or it could also be that he was just really offended that someone laughed at his remark. But I highly doubted that he was a person to do so.
I shrugged it off, not wanting to have anything to do with him and his group of friends anyways when I concentrated back on the subject and the teacher who's mood seemed to have worsened with someone like Chan in his class, always looking back at the boy who just smiled at him like a innocent little kid.
Once I heard the bell ring that indicated the end of the lesson, I had rushed out of the room and down the hallway to my locker. It felt like an eternity that I had spent in school that day, happy to finally be able to go home again and do literally nothing besides being lazy.
"Nova!" I heard someone call out from behind, causing me to turn my head around and be met with Thalia, one of the only ones I could completely trust in this school. She walked up to me, a wide grin adoring her lips when she leaned against the lockers, "any plans for the weekend?" She asked, clapping her hands together when I thought for a moment, shutting the door of my own locker when the two of us started walking out of school.
"Don't think so, why?"
"Because there is gonna be a party where I'd like to go with you!"
I was about to answer when a sudden thought crossed my mind, turning towards my friend with a knowing smirk, "could it be that he will be there~?" I asked the female who's grin only widened despite her unsuccessful try to hide it.
"I don't know what you're talking about" she tried to play dumb, looking anywhere but at my figure when I slightly laughed at her actions.
"That's fine with me then, I'm gonna go along" I accepted the offer, although not really being one for parties or similar but if I could help out a friend then it was my responsibility to do so. Thalia had helped me more often than I could count, and returning the favor with simply making it possible for her to get in touch with her dream guy, then there was no other answer than doing so.
"You should bring another companion as well" the brunette suddenly chimes in again after composing herself again, just getting a hum in return when I really could not think of any person I would burden with the task to go along with me.
When we finally got outside the building along with loads of other students, I immediately detected Chan and his two friends standing not far away, although I had no idea how he made it out before us when I didn't see him walking past the two of us, but I could honestly care less.
What I did care about on the other hand was that he was staring. And I wasn't exactly fond of people staring at me. And as if it was not enough, the two boys besides him were then doing the same when they had the same shocked expression on their faces as Chan did before — who now looked rather neutral before hitting the others shoulders and saying something inaudible before the three walked away.
Creepy guys.
"wHOA," Thalia suddenly exclaimed, turning towards me with wide eyes, "were those stares just directed at you?? Oh girl, getting to the bad boys I see! Your grandma would be proud!"
"Wha– Thalia what the heck?"
"Sorry"
❝ Simply say that all of this has somehow
a purpose ❞
