I told him everything I knew. I told him about Chan, Jeongin and Jisung, as well as Hyunjin and Minho and what the recent problem was actually about. To say that Changbin was surprised with all this new information would be an understatement, although he did say that he had a slight guess that vampires were back in the hood.

"So you want me to be your— guard dog?"

"Well... kind of?"

"Count me in" he stated, crossing his arms when it took a few seconds for me to comprehend his immediate answer.

"Just like that?" That was actually insane. If I were in his position, I would have stated a few conditions for literally putting my life on the line, or would at least take a bit time to think about it properly. But no, he just agreed like that. He even thought more about my offers when I had asked him to go get ice cream in the past but guess that is something different.

"Of course. If I can provide at least a bit safety for you, then I'm not gonna hesitate to do so. I can't promise anything but I won't let these bastards touch you ever again" he explained when a bitter look crossed his face at the end. Changbin really was a friend to rely on.

"You're literally the best, I owe you so much," I exclaimed and smiled at the boy who did the same in return — just glad that he agreed to the offer because I had no idea what to do if he would've said no, "I want to get it over with as soon as possible, so let's meet tomorrow at school and see if we can find one of the two lurking around anywhere"

Getting a nod from the male, I didn't wanted to waste any more of his time and decided to head home, especially because it was pretty much nighttime already. However, I couldn't help but feel a bit safer in the dead of night than at the day. Things were a bit twisted at the moment when the boys could only leave their mansion when it was already dark outside and if it came to an emergency, I could call for them — what was not exactly possible at day.

Walking down the sidewalk to my house, my mind wandered back to what Chan and the others had said before I left to see Changbin.

Someone who looks into the
future full of hope

"You plan to do what now?" Jisung asked in disbelief when I told them about my idea to ask Changbin for help, "that's way too risky. He can't know about us"

"But you guys know about him, so it's only fair," I retorted when Jeongin and Chan were both silent, thinking about it a bit more, "and besides, it's either him, or me on my own"

"I think she has a point" Jeongin then finally spoke up and placed his hands on Jisung's shoulder who still appeared to be a bit conflicted. I was pretty sure that what he stated as reason was not the only aspect that was stopping him from agreeing. Of course, I was still pretty new in this whole vampire and werewolf thing, but I for sure knew that these two species weren't the best friends and either of them wanted to stay away from the other.

"I guess we don't have another choice," Chan then declared, getting his friend even more stressed, "but Nova, there is something important you need to know if you do take a werewolf with you," he said in a serious tone, turning towards me when I just raised my eyebrows and waited for him to continue, "even though Hyunjin and Minho are recently a big risk, try to avoid your friend biting them or anything. Werewolf bites are deadly for vampires, remember that"

Ok that was a shocker. If Changbin were to bite any of them, they would die? I would have expected it to be the other way around, but guess I was wrong with that.

I gulped, nodding my head in understanding when Jisung them decided to give up, probably just trusting me to try and prevent anything that would lead to someone being killed. I could very well understand that they didn't really wanted the two other vampires death — they used to be friends after all, or something similar — but being at someone's side for so many years sure ties people together.

"Nova, take this," Jeongin then said, fishing something out of his pocket before taking a hold of my hand and placing his still closed fist on my palm before placing an item in my hand — looking closely at me, "wear it at all times"

Someone who manages to endure
all of this hope

I looked down at the bracelet that the male had given me, seeing the indigo colored herb that I could identify as Wolfsbane inside a small glass pendant. He explained that if I were to wear it, I was safe from any mind manipulation that Hyunjin or Minho could possibly try — just in case, he said.

I arrived at my house not long after, entring and greeting my mom and sister who were watching some TV show in the living room as if it was just a normal day. I really hoped that the two wouldn't ever get dragged into any of this, because I had a bad feeling that the further I got involved myself, the more I put them at risk as well.

But it was way too late to get out of it now, even if I wanted to.

Going upstairs and getting ready for bed, I sat down on the chair in front of my desk and started to write down everything that happened that day in my diary. It was a silly thing to do, but I enjoyed it, and prevented me from forgetting things.

I glanced up to the mirror in front of me for a second when my head then spun around to my room, eyes wide when I could have sworn I saw a figure sitting on my bed just now but was instead met with an empty room. Was I hallucinating? I looked back at the mirror and was just slightly relaxing when there was indeed, no one besides me in the frame.

I quickly went to close my window, feeling as if I shouldn't let it open that night.

I could just hope that things would go well tomorrow.

And really I just want to tell you
Everything is going to be okay
