Y/N's POV
Thursday, October 31st, 1985.

"Y/n?" A familiar voice asked behind me. I whipped my head around to see Steve, Robin, and Nancy standing on the stairs behind me. My smile dropped at the sight of Steve's confused frown, a similar confusion on Robin's face, and Nancy's face twisted into that same smug grin from before. Before I could react, Steve was next to us, getting in Eddie's face.

"Get off her!" Steve shouted, shoving Eddie off of me roughly. The taller boy scowled in Eddie's face, to which Eddie just smirked, finding his outburst amusing. This seemed to anger Steve more, making him grasp onto Eddie's collar, much like he had the first night I'd seen Eddie. "You think this is funny, huh?"

Eddie rolled his eyes in Steve's face and Steve tightened his grip on him, pulling Eddie in inches from his sneering scowl.

"What'd you do, lure her down here so you can have your way with her or something? Y'know, that's disgusting, preying on girls just trying to mind their own business," Steve sniveled viciously. Eddie's smile dropped completely at this point, not finding it funny anymore, and he stared up at Steve with a bone-chilling animosity. Eddie's gaze flickered back to me, his eyes silently urging me to help him, but I was frozen in place, not knowing what to do or say. Steve shook Eddie in his hands, snapping Eddie's attention back to him. "Look at me when I'm talking to you, Freak."

"I didn't lure her anywhere, okay? She came down here out of her own free will," Eddie said through gritted teeth. Steve laughed in his face, clearly not believing him. Eddie's hands balled up into tight fists, his knuckles white.

"Oh really? Let's ask her," Steve snickered before turning his attention to me. "You wanted this? You wanted the Freak all over you, y/n?"

"I-I-" I stammered, trying to find my words as my petrified state worsened from being put on the spot like this.

"Yeah, didn't think so," Steve said before slamming Eddie up against the railing, me barely just jumping out of the way. Without warning, Steve punched Eddie square in the face. I screamed in horror as Nancy and Robin sprang from their places, sprinting down from the stairs to my side. Everything felt as if it was moving in slow motion as Steve hit Eddie again and again and again. Punching him over and over in the face, Eddie's head flopping to the side with each blow. Eddie just stood there, slumped over the railing, taking hit after hit. His fists remained in tight balls, ready to strike, but never moving, never raising themselves to Steve.

"Steve! Stop!" was all I managed to yell out between my gasping, jagged breaths as I began hyperventilating. Steve didn't stop though, not when Robin and I continuously screamed at him to, and not when Eddie's knees began to give out from the continuous impact to his head. Eddie's knees did eventually buckle under him and he fell to the ground, Steve toppling on top of him, his fists never relenting from Eddie's profusely bleeding face.

"Steve! Enough!" Robin screeched, beside me, her voice cracking from her incessant screaming. Steve ignored Robin, pounding Eddie into the ground, like he'd been waiting for this opportunity. It was a terrifying sight, seeing someone I knew so well snapping like this, completely pummeling someone who wasn't even fighting back, his fists being painted by Eddie's blood. A crowd began forming at this point, cheering Steve on and I was still frozen in place, silently urging someone, anyone to do something to stop this since my body wouldn't let me. Finally, Lucas and Mike came outside and they immediately sprung into action, both of them grasping at Steve's shirt to pull him back. It took the help of three other large boys to fully pull Steve off of Eddie, who laid pathetically curled up on the ground, coughing and sputtering blood.

"You ever fucking touch her again, you're dead, Munson," Steve spat, pointing a bloody finger harshly down at Eddie as Lucas and a taller boy dragged him away towards the house. With the fight coming to an end, the crowd slowly dissolved, leaving just Robin and me standing there as Eddie rolled onto his side, writhing in pain as he pushed himself up. I finally snapped out of it, realizing that everything I just witnessed really happened and wasn't some horrible hallucination, and I stepped to Eddie to help him up.
