Eddie's POV
Saturday, October 26th, 1985.I stumbled out of my van, my vision hazy from the countless beers I'd had with the guys, as I searched for that goddamn tree. I had no recollection of leaving the bar. I didn't even remember driving to her house. The only thing present in my thoughts was how much I wanted to see y/n's face. I finally found my way to the large oak below her window as I clumsily hopped up to reach the first branch. I missed, by a long shot, and took a spill over the thick roots below my feet. No climbing for me. Got it. I grabbed a fistful of gravel as I used the trunk of the tree to crawl back up into a standing position before commencing plan B. I flung a few pebbles at the window, probably rougher than I should have. After a moment, I saw a light flick on before y/n yanked her window open, just barely ducking out of the way of the last pebble I launched.
"Eddie, what the hell are you doing?" Y/n hissed down to me, her torso wrapped in her sheets that were tucked under her armpits.
"Throwing rocks at your house," I slurred up to her, shrugging.
"Why?" She furrowed her eyebrows together in irritation.
"Because I'm too drunk to climb the tree," I said with a bumbling giggle.
"You're drunk?" She asked, her eyebrows shooting up. Her stern expression normally would have scared me, but I was too focused on the dim light from her bedside lamp cascading over her bare shoulders. The things I would do to be in there right now.
"Are you naked?" I asked, disregarding her question.
"Yes, but that's beside the point. Why are you drunk, Eddie?" She asked sternly, adjusting the sheet tighter around her chest, though the sheer material didn't conceal much. I wouldn't tell her that though.
"Well, I can explain," I drawled, holding up a finger. "Corroded Coffin played at the bar tonight and it was fucking awesome and so to celebrate how awesome it was, the guys and I got piss drunk and then they all went home to go to sleep, but I couldn't sleep because I missed you, so I drove here."
"You drove? Oh my God, Eddie!" Y/n sighed exasperatedly, rubbing her hands over her face as the rough breeze threatened to blow the sheet off of her chest. "You can't do that! You could've gotten into an accident."
"But, I didn't," I replied, grinning up at her. Even with her face contorted in rage like this, she was a fucking goddess. "I just really wanted to sleep with you. Can I please come inside?"
"Eds, my dad's home," She said plainly.
"Then let's go sleep at my place. My bed's way comfier anyways," I suggested. She stared down at me for a moment, chewing on her lip in contemplation. God, the way she looked in that moment, looking down at me, biting her lip in nothing but those thin sheets. She drove me fucking insane. I ached to touch her skin.
"Give me a minute," She mumbled before dipping back into her room and closing the window. I leaned against the tree, staring up at her window in anticipation, awaiting her descent. I waited there for what felt like an eternity, my hands in my pockets as the fall air whipped against my skin, my face beginning to burn from the cold. I didn't care though. I'd wait for her through a blizzard if I had to.
"Well, are we going or not?" Y/n asked, suddenly behind me.
"Jesus H. Christ!" I exclaimed, clutching my chest in shock. I spun around to look at her, now a vision in pajama bottoms and my sweater from this morning. "I didn't know you were going through the door."
"Well, yeah, kind of what they're for," She retorted, tilting her head to the side. Beneath the dimmed streetlights, she was absolutely breathtaking. I couldn't get over how beautiful she looked tonight, despite her raggedy pajamas and her hair messy from sleep. I pushed myself off of the tree, gracelessly stepping to her before grasping onto the sides of her face and pulling her lips onto mine. Her petal soft lips moved in sync with mine for a moment, letting me savor the sweet taste of her mouth, before she pushed me off of her.
