Chpt 16 - Is He Dead?

Kai's POV -
Cold and lonely, why were those the only things I could feel? Am I dead? Surely not, right? Unable to open my eyelids, or even move a single muscle, that surely seemed to be what's happening here, oh well.

"This is it". I'd thought to only myself, as I aimlessly floated endlessly in an never ending dark abyss, only hoping this wasn't the end.

Jay's POV -
Shakily falling backwards, landing on my rear, this can't be it, Kai surely can't be dead, can he? Breathing rapidly, mind fogged over, why him! This wasn't fair!

Lloyd's POV -
Noticing Jay motionlessly sitting on his rear, it seemed he couldn't force his eyes to move away from Kai, I wonder why? Slowly inching forward, Zane forcefully halted me in an instant.

"Lloyd, I'm afraid... there's no life force anymore, I'm sorry". Hearing those words swirl uncontrollably in my mind, why... WHY! Screaming horrendously loud, Zane sadly closed his eyes, not wanting to believe this himself.

Cole's POV -
Fist clenched tightly, hearing Zane speak such unforgettable words, if Morro shows his ghastly face EVER again, I'll personally wipe him out. Teeth bared, this was unforgivable!

Skylor's POV -
Unsure of the situation below, noticing Jay's tear filled eyes, that can't be good. Glancing at Sensei Wu and Garmadon direction, surprisingly they'd already disappeared from sight, weird.

Nya's POV -
Painfully forcing my upper body straight, something didn't feel right, the atmosphere was oddly gloomy and darkened. Slowly standing, I'd immediately spotted Kai's lifeless body, laying flat on his back, blood pouring constantly down his chin, he can't be dead, surely, right?

Jay's POV -
Helplessly slumped on my rear, none of my muscles responded to my brain, Damnit! Teeth bared in a rage, I won't allow this! Kai can't leave us!

Suddenly feeling a lifeless metallic cold hand, it must've been Zane, I wonder is ice had been activated,perhaps grief?

"Jay please escort everyone into the main building, I promise I'll save Kai". Tears swelling once again, Zane gave me a nod of reassurance.

Zane's POV -
Hearing faintly in the distance, the elevator arrive above ground, excellent. Ready to begin surgery, I hesitated, sensing someone nearby.

"Skylor you can come down now, I'll need another pair of hands, unfortunately Pixel is on a distant mission so I can't afford leaving it for her to return". Speaking clear enough, thankfully Skylor herself gently landed directly next to me, however she was unable to even stare at Kai.

Kai's POV -
On top of the Cold and loneliness, agonising pain shot throughout my entire body, making me completely paralysed. Wanting to reassure my brothers, who were not flesh and blood but in bond, something restrained me, chaining me to this endless abyss.

Slowly descending further, an unknown light source pierced my darkened atmosphere, only a little but who could it be? Able to open my eyelids a tiny inch, it wasn't hope or a saviour in the light, it was that god forsaken Oni, victoriously staring down at me, making me feel belittled.

"Kai take my hand, I'll protect you no matter what, that's a promise, this is not for any personal gains, I want YOU to protect you're friends, so what do you say?". Spotting his one of many Oni arms outstretched, I had no other choice, it was take the deal or.... Pass onto the afterlife.

Zane's POV -
Analysing multiple possible medical treatments, nothing useful was coming up, making this task seem impossible. Sighing deeply, ready to give up, Skylor suddenly grasped my shoulder with an inhuman grip, that can't be good. Glancing up a little, the entire atmosphere became severely hot but why?

Quickly staring at Kai's direction, there he motionlessly stood, enveloped in Oni flame, however my system started blaring warning alarms of the dangerously hot temperatures.

Kai's POV -
Breathing out smoke, that's when I'd noticed my entire body had already completely transformed into my Oni form without hesitation or delay, not good.
