Chapter Seventeen: Family

Marvin POV:

Ever since Shan became my boyfriend, I've been happy and I forgot that I have a stalker who hasn't been caught yet.

I'm also happy because of our date. Shan smiles at me and thanks me as he wraps me in a hug. I joke that I'm not sure what to do about him.

I don't think I can be his friend and the places we like to hang out at are completely different.

Shan answers my question by telling me to just stay next to him, to which I nod. Shan asks me to say I like him again.

I'm embarrassed though and say I'm only going to say that once in my life, which only feeds Shan's massive ego. He starts to tease me about it and I pretend not to hear him, but we're interrupted by a phone call.

I heard him say that we were going to their house.

I told Shan that I was nervous and he said not to be nervous because his family likes me.

I have met Shan's mother but the rest of Shan's family members have not yet.

Our trip took an hour and a half because of the traffic.

When we arrived at Shan's house, he held my hand before ringing the doorbell.

As soon as I opened the door, I was overwhelmed by how they greeted me. I respected them.

I also met Shan's father and I just found out that he is also my mother's friend.

I also saw their family photo in the living room.

"Thank you," I gave my gift to his parents.

"P'Marvin, can I ask for your autograph," he already has my cooking recipe book.

"Sure," I signed and we took a picture.

Shan's younger sister is cute.

They also started the question and answer. I know how Shan feels when he talks to my family because I feel the same way.

We were in the dining room when Shan's older brother spoke and so did his younger sister

They grill me about I like Shan.

They unanimously say that under no circumstances can I say I like him because that means I have two weeks left. His younger sister also tells me that Shan's never dated anyone longer than a month and a half. I just laugh nervously at them and try to play dumb.

"Past is past," Shan looked at me.

"That's enough, why did you sabotage your brother, Nong'Marvin, don't pay attention to what they said," Auntie Mookda said.

"Your mother is right, it's the first time that Lover boy brought something to the house," they laughed at what uncle Singto said.

"Dad, are you the same," uncle Singto just looked at him and continued eating.

"I'm just happy because Nong'Marvin is the only one who will make you wise," uncle Singto smiled at me.

"Welcome to the family," said auntie Mookda.

Later I received a call from an unregistered number.

I looked at Shan and he took my phone.

"I'll take care of him," Shan whispered to me.

I changed my number a while ago but my stalker is still getting my number.

I'm worried that maybe later he will suddenly pour acid on me or maybe he'll lash out at me as my stalker says.

I have a bodyguard but I'm still scared.

Shan made an excuse that he just wanted to talk to someone.

"P'Marvin are you okay?" I just smile.

Later, Shan came back and gave me my phone.

"Shan... I thought I'd change my number again, as well as the passcode of my condo door," he held my hand and told me not to worry because Jay was the only one who called because Jay lost his phone.

"I thought it was him," Shan hugged me.

Later we went to the living room.

Auntie Mookda showed the picture of Shan when he was a baby. Even the teenager Shan.

Then Shan showed me his room and I even saw a robot toy of his.

Later my phone rang and it was my mother calling.

After I answered she was crying and I asked why she was crying.

I talked to P'Natalie, they are in the hospital now because our father had an accident.

"I'm on my way there," and P'Natalie said which hospital they were in now.

"Marvin your father will be okay," I tried not to cry as Shan held my shoulder.

We said goodbye to his family and Shan said it was an emergency.

I didn't think they would accompany me to the hospital.

When I got there, my mother and my siblings hugged me.

"Heart," my mother hugged auntie Mookda.

"I was just... talking to him earlier," I helped my mother to the chair.

Later the doctor came out And he told us that
I close my eyes and stand silently.

The Doctor explained to us my father's condition and listed compound fractures, pelvic fractures, and massive bleeding.

The doctor says that the chances of my father recovering are also very low. We were shocked as my mother said that although her husband is in pain they can still detect brain activity so he isn't brain dead. There is still hope for our father to recover.

"I know your father won't leave us, he promised me," I hugged my mother.

P'Natalie said that she will take care of our father first but our mother does not want to agree that she does not want to leave our father.

Shan's family said goodbye and my mother thanked them. Shan stayed to accompany me.

P'Natalie has already called our father's other siblings to tell them what happened to our father.

We were just outside the ICU because we were not allowed to go inside. The doctors had to watch our father for 12 hours. When he passed the critical stage, he could be moved to a room.

"Mom, eat first or you will get sick," I said and gave the food that Shan and I bought outside the restaurant.

"Thank you," he ate and I also gave it to my siblings.

Shan and I had eaten again around 4 in the morning when P'Natalie told me to go home first and take Asher back home because Asher still had school.
