Chapter Nine: We Meet Again

Marvin POV:

Bangkok, Thailand

I go to the fish market to buy the next day's special, happily flirting with all the market older women the entire time. I return to the restaurant with his purchase, I'm a chef and owner in a Thai upscale restaurant and I whip up delicious food also I'm taking care of my kitchen like my own child. And It's dinner service time and where service is bustling but controlled, everyone preparing pasta under my careful eye. Also, I'm plating a dish when I smell something burning, it turns out that the youngest of the assistant cooks, Ohm, has dozed to let the sauce burn and Sous chef Min and he scolds him, I pull aside both of them. for scolding Ohm for his mistake, and Min for leaving his sauce to him. He apologizes, but I hardly even hear him, directing my comments solely at Min. I won't even look at him.

We went back to what we were doing and well everything went well.

We have a customer who insists on reheating her dish, despite caution that it'll ruin the noodles.

Later she requested mayonnaise and she felt like she was in a Japanese restaurant so the manager explained to her that she did not go to a Japanese restaurant but to a Thai upscale restaurant.

The next morning, At a gourmet food festival, I did a live cooking show with other chefs. When my eyes caught Shan.

I didn't think I would see him again in the crowd in Thailand and we met here.

That night, I go to the rooftop to find Shan there. After a very awkward few minutes, the two share his food.

"I never thought we'd meet here," Shan told me.

"Me neither," we are both silents again. As I was about to leave, he asked me for my cell number and I said that I don't have a cell phone right now because I broke it.

He just gave me his cell number and when my cell phone is ready, I will call him to eat at my restaurant and say goodbye to him.

We were on our way home because the event was over when I saw Shan again with a woman, maybe his girlfriend.

When I got home, my package was there before my cellphone was made. There is another package in my name and I don't know who the sender is. received a parcel with a pair of neckties and the shoes to the pile of other items that were mailed to me in the past. I pack the items in a box and am on my way down to my apartment to throw them in the trash.

The next day, I was at my parents' house and I gave my parents a viola flower my mother mentioned that the viola stands for love and happiness.

"Son," my mother hugged me.

"How was your vacation?" my mother asked.

"We had a great vacation," I told my mother.

"How is your moving on?" my father asked.

"Dad, I've moved on," so he didn't believe me.

"Dad, I have a gift for you," I gave him the fishing equipment and I saw the joy on his face at my gift.

Later, one of our younger brothers, Asher, came and said goodbye to me and our parents. He is with his friends.

They woke up in the room and just told our housemaid that they will eat in the room. They said they were going to do a project. Before I said goodbye, I gave my gift to Asher and his friend.

I made a promise to them and told my parents to give my gift to my older sister Natalie.

Later, I visited the newly opened restaurant with my college friends, and we had a good time talking, we were interrupted by the arrival of my ex-girlfriend, she offers me to name his price for catering her birthday party, but I'm interested. Instead, I get up to leave, then warn my college friend to stay away from her before handing him a generous monetary gift.
