ERIS
We were currently lying in the living room after Alana went to sleep. "I want to know more about you," I said as I traced my fingers over Nathan's chest.
"Like what?" He asked, kissing my forehead.
"I don't know anything or everything," I shrugged. "Your favorite color?"
"Gray," He began leaving a trail of kisses down my neck.
"Favorite food?"
"Hmm, Pasta," Kiss.
"Favorite movie?"
"I don't have one," Kiss.
"Favorite pass time?"
"Spending time with you," His words made my heart flutter.
I leaned in to kiss him, and he responded with the same anticipation. He put his hands on my waist and lifted me to where I was straddling him. I wrapped his hair around my fingers and gently tugged on it. He moaned against my lips, the vibrations sending goosebumps all over my body. He let his hands roam my body and played with my bra clip.
I pulled away and pressed our foreheads together. We took a few seconds to catch our breaths. It's never progressed to anything apart from kissing. Just hot, steamy makeout sessions. It's not because I don't want to because, trust me, I really want to. Taking things slow will make the moment more pleasing. I moved a little to fix myself, and he moaned.
"Sorry," I felt my body warm up, and he placed his hand on my cheek.
"I want to make it clear to you that there is no rush. Don't be embarrassed," He reassured. I laughed because I could feel him poking at my bottom. "I want to do this right. I would wait a lifetime for you," My heart did backflips in my chest and I smiled.
"I appreciate you waiting for me," I said, and he nodded. I laid my head on his chest, and we continued watching t.v.~
I woke up to find out I was lying on top of Nathan, and he was fast asleep. We had never slept together, so this was my first time seeing him like this. I smiled and studied his features. His eyebrows were relaxed, and his eyes didn't have their usual crinkle on the side. Light snores were coming out of his slightly parted mouth. He looked so vulnerable. Compared to the everyday stressed-out look he had on his face.
"I took a picture. It'll last longer," I jumped and attempted to get off of him. This only made him tighten his grip around me.
I looked up to see Alana grinning down at me, and I whispered, "I didn't even hear you come in,"
"I know. Which is why I took this," She turned her phone over and showed me the picture of us. It was adorable. Despite my fantastic morning sleeping beauty look. "I'll send it to you. I find it surprising how Nathan slept on the couch. With his bad back, I know he can't sleep anywhere that isn't his custom mattress," She said as she typed away on her phone.
"This couch is very comfortable," I laughed.
"It was likable until I had two people chattering over me as I tried to sleep," Nathan said, and we laughed.
"Sorry," We said at the same time. I got up, and he grunted as he pushed himself up. He kissed me quickly, and Alana made some fake gagging noises.
"Ew ew, cooties," She said in a funny voice.
"Alana, why are you up so early?" Nathan asked, finally turning his attention to her.
"I need to run to the store. It's an emergency," She bit her lip.
"What kind of emergency?" He asked. I adjusted the blanket on me and looked up at them.
"Elijah finished his snacks and won't stop asking for them. Plus, I want to grab some for myself," She smiled and rolled on the balls of her feet.
"Why don't you send someone to get them?" I rolled my eyes at Nathan's response. It's so effortless for him to send someone to fetch your things.
"Because the last time I did, they brought me the wrong ones, and Elijah wouldn't stop crying. Please, will you go with me?" She pouted her lip.
"I have meetings. I need to catch up on some work," He rubbed his eyes, and I looked at her.
"I'll go with you!" I exclaimed, and she clapped.
"Great! Okay, can you get ready asap before Elijah gets bored of the cartoons I put for him?" She said, and I stood up.
"Wait! Before you go," Nathan stood up and gave me another kiss.
"Come on. I have an impatient baby that has been waiting all morning," She said, and I laughed, making my way out of the living room.
"Let me brush my teeth. You know what? I have gum in my purse. I'll brush when I come back," Nathan made a face and we said goodbye.
We went downstairs and into the car. On the way to the store, Alana was naming things from her checklist while adding a little bit more, and I took time to admire the view. Today was warmer than usual but still cloudy. It was as if the world had a filter on. When we got to the store, she immediately began placing items into the cart.
"They finally have these! Every time I come to look for them, it's always out of stock. I'm taking multiple of them," She said and threw a bunch of bags in. I looked back and noticed a man following us closely. He shot me a slight nod, and I smiled awkwardly. He put a finger up to his mouth, and I turned my attention away.
I pulled out my phone and texted Nathan. Bodyguard, really? Is that necessary?
I put my phone down and helped Alana grab something from the bottom shelf. Ding! A message from Nathan.
He was supposed to be more discrete. I'll have a chat with him later.
And I'll chat with you right now when I get home. I replied to him.
We stopped dead in our tracks as Alana groaned and held her stomach.
"Whoa, are you okay?" I asked her, and she nodded.
"Yes, I'm fine, it was not-ahhh" She bent over further.
"Okay, no, something is wrong," I grabbed her hand as she controlled her breathing.
"I think I'm fine," She said just as she let out another groan.
"Let's go. We will come for this later," I said, trying to get her to let go of the cart.
"Ms. Cadieux, what's going on?" The tall man walked over to us. Oh, Alana is not going to like this.
"Who's this?" She asked as we slowly made our way to the car.
"Bodyguard, courtesy of Nathan,"
"Oh my gosh, I'm going to kill him when-ahh!" She bent over again, and I glanced up at him.
"Call Nathan and tell him to meet us at the hospital." Once we were in the car, I told the driver to go. "I think this baby is coming now," I said, and he nodded.
"Don't worry we will get there in a few minutes," I said as I tried to calm her down. She had tears streaming down her face and groaned every couple of minutes. It's baby time!
