"I don't know, you tell me Raven," Marc said sliding his phone into his pocket. The group looked at Raven in confusion, "something you want to tell us?"
"Fine," Raven sighed. "I send bodies back with message and I tell Father he send men capture parents. Fight happen, parents dead."
"You did what?" Corey asked shocked.
"I just help," he shrugged. "Parents bad need gone."
"Our parents apparently refused to go with the men so his father could question them," Marc explained, "and tried to fight the men and a fight ensued and they ended up being killed."
"Why does he want to question them?" Corey asked.
"To find out what all they told Scott," Marc sighed. "He did send those others after her after all."
"I kill them but stay here," Raven growled, "protect family."
"So, all this is over her hacking into your uncle's computer?" Corey asked.
"Kind of," Marc nodded. "You know my family is bad and her mother married my father and they dealt with a lot of drugs. My father and uncle were well known drug king pins or whatever you want to call them, and her mother ran their prostitution, sex trafficking rings. Apparently, Alina learned too much from Corey and hacked into all their computers and stole all their information before erasing their computers. They want that information back at all costs."
"Fuck," North growled. "Good job Raven."
"Da," Raven nodded. "I protect Kitten family."
"So where is this information?" Corey asked.
Marc shook his head, "I have no idea. It wasn't on her when I found her."
"Then she's not safe yet," Owen said straightening his tie. "Just because your parents and uncle have been killed doesn't mean she is safe; their men could still come after her out of revenge."
"I know," Marc nodded.
"I protect," Raven said checking the sharpness of one of his knives.
"We all will," Silas nodded.
"We will take shifts until she can go home," Kota said as his mind began to race with ideas.
"You can stay with us," Owen nodded, "we have the room and Corey and Victor can work on the security to see if it needs to be improved."
"Shouldn't we stay at our place since they showed up at your place?" Brandon asked.
"Our place isn't big enough," Corey shook his head. "If anything we would need a new place that we could keep off records."
Marc looked up shocked, "I know just the place, but it would need some work."
"Are you sure, Marc?" Axel asked. "I mean you did find her there, wouldn't it be traumatic for her?"
"No, just the opposite," Marc shook his head. "She went there because she knew I would find her there. She brought Melisma there because she knew it would be safe for her. I'm telling you it would be perfect, Axel."
"What about for you?" Silas asked.
"What do you mean?" Marc asked confused.
"You found her in that house like that," Silas explained. "Are you going to be okay going back there? It could be hard to get that image of her out of her you head being back in there, especially if you decide to live there. Can you handle being there everyday with the memory of how you found her?"
"Of course," Marc nodded, "because it's also the place that we managed to find her, save her, and it's her dream home. It will have more happiness then that one moment of darkness. I'll be fine."
"And at times if not, you have us," Luke shrugged as he wrapped his arm around Marc's shoulders. "So do you even own the creepy old place anyway?"
Marc nodded, "I bought it a few years back so that she didn't have to worry about losing it. I just never had a reason to fix it up until now."
"Well," Luke grinned, "North and Silas are going to have a blast."
"So is Gabe," Victor nodded already holding out his card.
"Fuck yeah, let's go see this place."
"What's so special about this place anyway?" Kota asked. "I mean besides it's a place you took her to keep her safe from your parents?"
"When I first found it I did some research, Abraham Wright built it for his wife Olivia as a wedding present back in the 1700s. It's ten bedrooms and it was built exactly how she wanted it," he recited from memory from back when he first told Alina. "Story goes she told him her dream house on a date and he remembered then built it as a surprise. They were married for 50 some odd years before she died and he followed less than a year later. Family rumor is they were step siblings and even though it couldn't be proven there are stories that have been passed down that his two best friends moved in shortly after the marriage and never moved out or married. They both died less than a year after Abraham and Olivia. Of course nothing could be proven but she loved that information even if she never believed in love. Our parents made sure of that. She used to say that love wouldn't hurt this much if it were real."
"Well," Axel sighed, "now will be the time to prove her wrong."
