Alina woke up and looked around, oh yeah that's right she was on a boat. Carefully climbing over a sleeping Silas she left the cabin and rested her arms on the railing so she could watch the sun rise and paint the waves.
"Knew I would find you here," a deep voice chuckled from behind her.
"Good morning to you too Marc," she said without turning around.
She felt him walk up behind her and place his hands on her hips before resting his head on top of hers, "You can't go be a pretty little mermaid just yet, Beautiful," he said after a couple of moments of comfortable silence.
She pouted, "but it's so pretty and calling to me."
Marc chuckled, "you know as well as I do that Axel, Brandon, and Silas would have a fit if you turned into a mermaid this early in the morning with the sharks and all that."
She huffed then pouted, "fine."
Marc chuckled then kissed the top of her head, "come on Little Mermaid, let's go walk along the shore."
"What about?"
"I sent them a text," he said as he held his phone out for her to see before sliding it back into his pocket. She nodded and he took her hand before leading her off the boat. Once her feet were on the sand, she took her shoes off and dug her toes into the sand, making Marc smile. "Happy Beautiful?"
She smiled and nodded, "Yep."
He intertwined their fingers and forced back a huge smile at how happy she was. It had been such a long time since he had seen her that peaceful, he wanted her like that all the time. They walked along the shore in silence for quite a while and yet there was no awkwardness about it. That was one of the things about them that he loved; she was comfortable with him, and she didn't feel like she had to talk. She knew that she was safe with him, and it was okay if she didn't talk.
She stopped and took a couple of steps into the water. Marc stayed behind her and wrapped his arms around her stomach. He knew without even looking that she had a soft smile on her lips as she leaned against him and just watched how the sun painted the water.
Marc felt her body just ever so slightly tense up. He took a step back and moved beside her, sure enough her eyes were zoned out. "Vidím, jak se ta kola točí, Nádhera. Mluv se mnou prosím. (I can see those wheels spinning, Beautiful. Talk to me, please.)"
"Jak to děláš, Beany? (How do you do it, Beany?)" she whispered without turning to look at him.
„Dělejte to, co? (Do what?") he asked confused.
"Důvěřujte beze strachu, že budete rozdrceni. (Trust without fear of being crushed.)" she said honestly.
„Důvěra nebo láska? (Trust or love?)" he asked gently.
She sighed but he could feel her body tensing even more. This was a very deep thing for her. She was terrified of the unknown and she hated someone having power over her that she didn't know the outcome of. She guarded her heart fiercely after what their parents put her through. It took him almost a year before she trusted him that he wouldn't leave her forever again and over a year before she took the Toma group to their word. He knew it was going to be a long journey before she truly allowed the whole group to love her, and she loved them unguarded. She could say the words to them but meaning it and having feeling behind the words was completely different. Thankfully he knew that the group understood that about her. The Toma group and he had told the Blackbourne group prior that actions were her thing, not words. Showing and proving it meant more to her than saying it.
"Oba (Both)" she whispered so softly he almost didn't hear her. "Bubliny (Bubbles)."
He exhaled softly and wrapped his arms around her chest and stomach, "Upřímně je to děsivé. Dodnes se občas bojím, ale prostě věřím, že nebudou. S tebou je to stejné Krásko, mohla bys mě rozdrtit stejně jako já tebe. Ale miluji tě příliš moc na to, abych ti někdy ublížil, a hluboko v srdci vím, že mě miluješ příliš, než abys mi někdy chtěl ublížit. Se všemi kluky je to stejné. Cítí to stejně. (Honestly it's terrifying. I still get scared to this day at times, but I just have faith that they won't. It's the same with you Beautiful, you could crush me just as much as I could crush you. But I love you too much to ever hurt you and I know deep down in my heart that you love me too much to ever want to hurt me. It's the same way with all the guys. They feel the same way. I understand more than anyone how scary it is to try and love again but each time I worried or scared, I talk to them about it. They do the same with me when they feel the same way. We just do what we can to reassure each other that we love one another and trust each other. It's hard Alina but love isn't supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be hard so that when it happens we can really appreciate it. Just try and let me, let us show you, Alina, please.)"
She turned and pressed her face into his chest. "Řekni mi to. (Tell me.)"
He chuckled and kissed the top of her head. "Abraham Wright postavil tento dům pro svou ženu Olivii jako svatební dar v roce 1700. (Abraham Wright built this house for his wife Olivia as a wedding present back in the 1700s.)" He recited from memory. (The story goes she told him her dream house on a date, and he remembered and had it built it as a surprise for her. They were married for 50 some odd years before she died with him following less than a year later. Family rumor is they were step siblings and only started dating after their parents died. Even though it could never be proven there are stories that his two best friends moved in right after the marriage and never moved out or married. They both died less than a year after Abraham and Olivia. This house was built on polyamorous love and all I want, we want, is to love you. You are our one true love, Beautiful.)"
She tightened her hold on him and let out a shaky breath. He kissed the top of her head and just held her. After some time, she rubbed her face against her chest and sighed, "Vezmeme naši rodinu a půjdeme domů Beany. (Let's get our family and go home Beany.)"
He nodded and smiled as he spotted the group standing a bit away, giving them privacy and yet still being close to them. He stared at them for a minute before they nodded and started walking towards them. He placed his finger under her chin and lifted making her look up at him. He gently kissed her then smiled when her eyes filled with happiness, "Sounds perfect, Beautiful."
