""I'll never let go, Jack. I'll never let go." — Rose. (she in fact, DID, let go 💀.)

Chapter 80
<—————————————>

I thanked Kade as he finished the bandages to my shoulder. The guilt in his expression lingered as he released me, before he erased it with a shake of the head.

I decided to lighten the mood with, "Still mad about Jack?"

I watched him turn to place the bandages back inside of the cabinet. I wasn't too shocked that he had so much, or how good he was with it.

"Fuck yeah," he responded. "I don't care what you say, Rose could have scooted her selfish ass over." As soon as we finished Titanic, he ranted for an entire hour.

I shook my head with a chuckle. "That's not how it works, Kade."

He knelt to eye level, his fingers grazing the skin on my knees before he squeezed. "Yeah, well I would have made it work," he responded with a shrug. "Actually fuck that, I would have shoved her off." I burst into fits of laughter.

"So, technically you would have shoved me off?" I teased.

With care, he wrapped one arm around the back of my knees, and the other around my back. He held me close as if I weighed a feather. "Absolutely not. If it was a random person though, I'm going to have to let them swim."

"Drown, you mean."

"However the hell you want to say it, I would have survived to tell the tale."

My laughter continued until he placed me on his bed. I flexed my legs carefully, grinning at the results. It'd only been a few days since I came here, but I was getting better.

His attention anchored on me. "I'll go bring up your breakfast," he told me. I smiled until my cheeks hurt as he leaned down to kiss me. "Don't move."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Right, right because I'm definitely going to Antartica if you stay gone too long."

His tongue darted in the corner of his cheek to stop from laughing. "Little smart ass of mine," he mumbled against my lips, pecking them again before he left for the kitchen.

I truly appreciated him. I tried to carry my own weight, but nothing bothered him. Not in the slightest. Every single day, he did everything I asked for, went and got everything I needed, helped heal me, and never once complained. If anything, he seemed happy to do it.

My dad texted me every day. I reassured him that I was recovering quickly, and would be back in no time. I had less than two weeks before my cast was removed, and my bruised eye was slowly, but surely fading.

Tomorrow night, my friends were coming over. Kade had a meeting at the cages, but he wasn't sure of why or what it was. Levi would take his place here until he got back.

"Hey, my little smart ass," I heard his voice before he pushed the door open. "Look what I got." My eyes raised to him.

A grin stretched my lips wide at the coffee machine box in his hands. I wasn't even supposed to have coffee because of my stomach, but I did like it on occasion.

I pulled him down to me so quickly, he tripped over himself. I held on, anyway, dropping a kiss to his head. "Thank you." My hands fell from him to get a closer look at the machine. I saw it a while ago, and was immediately enticed by the design alone.

Kade sat in front of me, immediately pulling my feet into his lap. "That shit replacing me already?"

With a laugh, I placed it down. My body shifted until I was sitting in his lap. I dangled a teasing smile his way. "No, but it's pretty close." My body reacted to him immediately as I felt his hands rub at my thighs.

His head tilted at me. "Say that again, sweetheart," he hummed in my ear. His fingers hovered dangerously close to the button of my jeans. He hadn't touched me ever since we got back from the hospital, and it was driving me insane.

I shook my head, anyway. "No way," I argued, nearly groaning at myself. "I have to get ready for my friends."

Kade grinned mischievously, tilting his head up at me. "Fuck that. I want your pretty ass on my face."

Groaning at the temptation, I detached away from him physically. Somehow, someway, I could wait until he got home.

A throaty laugh followed from him at my turn expression before he pulled me into him, again. His lips feathered a kiss to my palm, before he pulled me down to his lap, again. My legs instantly wrapped around him.

His head raised from me. "Shit...before I forget." My fingers feathered through his hair as he dug into his pocket. He pulled out his wallet, then pulled out his card. "You know my pin."

I smiled, shaking my head. "I don't need it." My eyes jerked over our picture in his wallet with a grin before raising to him, again.

My lips parted in a sigh as his own pressed against my neck. "Levi told me that Raven wants to go to the nail salon. He'll be with you guys so it's fine. Take my card, and get what you want." There was no use in arguing so I just nodded.

"I won't spend that much," I reassured.

"You spend whatever the hell you wanna spend. Get a house for all I care, sweetheart. It's our money, you know that." His hand snaked to my ass before he lifted the both of us, gently placing me underneath him. His fingers gripped my chin, forcing my face to meet his. "And, get whatever you want for your nails. I can't wait to see them wrapped around my—"

Laughter bubbled in my chest until I tugged at his strands. "Kade," I cut him off. "You're unbelievable."

His hand wrapped around my hair, gently tugging my head back to him.  His eyes softened as he leaned down to leave a kiss to my lips. "You love it."

My hand ran up the length of his back. "I love you," I responded, my chest relaxing.

I was calm. I was relaxed and fine. Everything would be alright from here on out.
