"Your Highness!" Leo called, shaking Jennie's shoulders, begging her to open her eyes or say something. Leo felt hot liquid run down his face.
This is what he's been fearing to happen. If only he knew that things would get ugly the moment he heeded Jennie's request to bring Lisa's family to this place, even if his Queen gets mad at him, he would never do it.
Leo doesn't have anyone to blame but himself, for letting this happen- for being blind to the situation- for being weak- for not being at his Queen's side all the time.
"H-Her heart stopped beating." Jisoo uttered, hands trembling and tears racing down to her chin as she raised her head to meet the horrified orbs of her comrades that mirrored her own.
Leo clenched his fists and stood up to face the prince.
"What did you do to my Queen?" Leo asked, still in his human form, trying his hardest to suppress the rage that'd been dying to explode inside him. He knew that if he let himself lose his cool, it would only bring death and defeat to them.
In this situation, where his Queen was vulnerable, he needed to stand on his ground to protect everyone and to think as clearly as he could.
"Ha?" The prince asked, tilting his head to the other side, giving the wolf an amused expression.
"What could I possibly do to that beast if I was this far from her? I don't possess any magic or any power for a long-range attack. I haven't taken at least a single step closer to her, so how can that be my fault?" The prince followed, shrugging his shoulders and laying out his hands while pursing his lips cockily.
Leo refused to believe him. He knew that whatever happened to Jennie was the prince's fault alone. This was all part of his wicked plan. A wicked plan that his obsession brought to him. Leo didn't take his glare off him, killing him in his mind a thousand times- or maybe a million times already.
"H-Her heart was beating again but she's still in a terrible condition. She's burning and still not responding." Jisoo again said, plucking out some thorns inside Leo's chest. The tears on his face dried as his eyes finally stopped shedding some tears.
"I'm not going to let you lay a hand on my Queen." Leo bravely said, straightening his body and readying himself for the nightmare that was about to fall, but he wasn't alone. He doesn't need to face them alone. He no longer needed to look back just to confirm that Wonho and Bobby were standing next to him.
"Oh- so are you saying that you would fight us despite knowing that I've brought 15,000 of my men just to get that bitch leader of yours?"
Upon saying that, hundreds no- thousands of knights popped out everywhere. They were suddenly surrounded. Everyone was aiming their weapons at them with murderous intent.
"W-What are we going to do?" Leo heard Luca whisper behind him.
Leo looked around, assessing the situation, trying to look for a way of how they would get themselves out there. Leo was aware that the possibility of winning this war was zero. There are only three of them who can fight. Not only that, they needed to protect 5 of their comrades, of course, excluding Lisa's father.
