The king uttered the name that he hadn't said for years. He actually never mentioned that name since Jennie died- since he killed her. He just couldn't bring himself to say that name. His little sister's name was beautiful, and he felt like he was tainting her name with his sins if that name rolled over to his tongue. The prince and the knights looked back at the king, surprised and confused.
"You know her father?" Jungkook asked in a confused tone, pursing his lips a little bit.
The king ignored his son's question. He ignored the confused gazes of his son and the knights. He didn't take his eyes off the woman he assumed was his younger sister.
His feet moved on their own and started walking towards Jennie.
The former princess hadn't said a word or moved, it's not like she could even move.
Her eyes haven't averted from Taehyung at least for a second. Her glare was only getting sharper and sharper the longer she stared at the person she despised the most. She was gritting her teeth and flashing her fangs. Her eyes were filled with rage as she busied her mind thinking about how she was going to kill him.
Taehyung stopped beside his son and a step away from his younger sister. He lifted his hands as if he wanted to caress her face, but stopped midway. His hands were tainted with his sins. These hands are the hands that took his little sister's life.
These hands were the hands of a demon.
"You're alive?" Taehyung asked the obvious in a low voice that almost became a whisper.
Taehyung was so sure that this woman was her little sister. There's no way he would mistake this face for someone else. This was the face that had been hunting his dreams for years.
This was the face that he missed the most. This was the face that he wished to see before this world sent him to hell. But Taehyung was confused.
If Jennie was really alive throughout these years, how come her appearance didn't change? How come she had magic? And those fangs- she didn't have them before.
Jennie knew that denying her identity was out of the question. She couldn't deny it. She doesn't want to deny it, but she also doesn't want to admit it in this state.
Jennie clenched her fists tightly, then slowly loosened them up. She straightened her back, enduring the pain from her multiple wounds. She hid her fangs as her lips formed a straight line and lifted her chin a little bit.
"It was nice to see you again, brother." Jennie said, didn't really mean it. It was obvious in her voice and her expression. She wasn't delighted to see him again. She hates it. She hates his face. She hates his existence.
The word brother sounded more like an insult than a sign of respect. It's like Jennie was reminding Taehyung of what he did despite being a big brother to her.
The prince was the most shocked of all the people there. He didn't understand a single thing. He was beyond confused. His mind can't keep up with the new information.
Yes, he did know that his father had an older brother and a younger sister, but as Taehyung said to him when he asked about them, they all died in an accident with their father, the former king.
