Lisa fluttered her eyes open, staring at the circular wrought iron lamp held by chains in the ceiling. There were eight candles on it, making it the primary source of light in this room. The bed was soft. The room was warm and well-lit.
And yet Lisa wasn't comfortable.
And yet Lisa hated this place.
Lisa slowly sat up on the bed, groaning as she ran her slender fingers on her messy blonde hair. She couldn't remember how she ended up falling asleep.
Did the prince slap her as well or punch her in the stomach, which made her lose consciousness? But she was not feeling any pain in her stomach or cheek, so she figured that wasn't the case.
Did I just fall asleep because of exhaustion? Or because of stress from everything that happened?
The image of Jennie groaning in pain and falling to the ground crossed her mind as worry engulfed her again. Her almond hazel eyes widened as she looked around the room.
How long have I been sleeping? What happened? Where am I? Where is Jennie? What happened to Leo and the others?
Lisa had so many questions but no one was around to answer them. She actually had an idea that she was back in the Kingdom of X, since the last thing that the prince said was about going home before she lost consciousness.
It's kind of weird though, even though her house really is in this kingdom, Jennie's castle was homier than her own.
It doesn't mean that Lisa hates her family or no longer wants to be with them. She just prefers to be with Jennie and her family in Jennie's castle.
Lisa also remembered that she had become bold enough to slap the prince. She doesn't regret it. She's actually glad and proud of herself that she managed to do that.
Lisa didn't have any plan to just lay down or sit on the bed, waiting for someone to get in and answer her questions. If she doesn't have anyone to answer them, then she will look for the answers herself. She shifted on the bed and was about to get back on her feet when the door creaked open, revealing the person that she had never wished to see again.
"Oh, you're finally awake." The Prince said the obvious, smiling sweetly. He slowly walked toward Lisa after closing the door, still smiling widely as if Lisa hadn't slapped him earlier.
Lisa knew that she didn't have any right to disrespect him. She knew that she wasn't supposed to glare at the young man but she couldn't stop it. Her eyebrows moved on their own, trying to meet each other and no matter how she tried to fake what she was feeling, she couldn't hide the contempt that she had for him.
"I was really worried since you suddenly passed out after slapping me. How are you feeling, my love? Are you feeling pain? How about something to eat or drink? Just ask, my lady." The prince asked, caressing Lisa's face and ignoring the blondie's glare at him.
"Where was J-" Lisa flinched, recalling that Jennie's identity was a secret.
Fortunately, she managed to stop herself before the name ever slipped between her lips. After gulping down, she continued, "Where is she?"
