After discovering the conditions that the Heavens had set, no one dared to say anything and just left Jennie alone. They realized that being there wouldn't make Jennie feel better. They realized that there was nothing they could suggest to make the situation lighter.
Being forgotten by the person you love is hard and painful, but being helpless, and restricted to do anything that would make the other person remember you were a thousand times worse than any other thing.
It's not like Jennie doesn't have trust in Lisa that she will soon get over this and remember her. She just can't help but be drowned in the thought that Jennie would soon completely forget about her existence.
Even though she didn't want to, when morning came after that hellish day, Jennie appeared before Marco's house. It was Lisa's younger sister who opened the door and welcomed
Jennie. At that time, Ema was still clueless that her sister had already died and was just reincarnated. Jennie was the one who patiently explained everything to her. When Marco learned that Lisa was alive, he fell to his knees, begging for Jennie's forgiveness and bawling his eyes out.
Jennie had no intention of forgiving him or letting him see Lisa again. At least, that was her first plan. But because of the conditions that the Heavens had set, Jennie doesn't have any choice but to leave Lisa to her family.
She was thinking that it would be better to get Lisa as far as she could from her. Because of her helplessness, she would have to gamble everything on Lisa.
She would let Lisa recall their memories on her own. She would just wait for Lisa. It was painful. It was hard for her. She had no assurance that that day would ever come, but Jennie was risking her whole life and swore to wait, even if it took another two decades of her life.
Jennie had stopped thinking about what she would do after that. She felt like she had just lost her direction in life, so she was always just sitting on her bed or looking outside the window, staring at empty space while thinking of Lisa.
She knew that her servants were getting worried about her, but she really couldn't bring herself to be happy, to try to be happy, or at least pretend that she was happy.
Jennie had watched the time slipping out of her hands, flying before her face, and the hands of the clock moving against her.
Three loud consecutive knocks had taken Jennie's attention as she wiped the tears that had escaped her eyes and cleared her throat.
"Come in." Jennie uttered in a broken and awkward voice.
Just like what she was expecting, it was Leo, but this time her werewolf servant wasn't holding a tray of food. He was empty-handed, looked troubled for some reason, nervous, and hesitating over something.
"What's the matter?" Jennie asked, trying her best for her voice not to sound as raspy as it should be.
"Your Highness, you have a visitor."
Jennie furrowed her brows in confusion.
How the fuck would she ever have a visitor? The last time that she had a visitor, the castle turned into a mess because of Marco. Though she was confident that the Kingdom wouldn't be dumb to pull off another reckless attack. Well, that's the case if they don't want to be erased from the world map yet.
