Surprise Attacks, Bats, and Desire

Jungkook had his hands tucked behind his back as he trotted inside the office, Y/n L/n inside and waiting for him. It had been two weeks since she began working for him, and not much had happened thus far. He was plotting ways to get her blood without her knowledge. There were two options: somehow get her blood without her noticing, or introduce her to the vampire world. However, Jungkook didn't want to risk her becoming a Glutton. They already had enough of those.

Her hands extended, holding a file in between her fingers, but all he noticed was the pulse of her veins. He licked his lower lip without meaning to, taking the file and being sure to rub his hand across hers as he took it. It wasn't meant to be romantic or flirtatious: all he wanted was to feel her pulse. Jungkook would do anything to taste her. Maybe it was worth it to let her turn into one of the Gluttons.

"Miss L/n, it's lovely to see you today," he said, casually flipping through the file to see the report she wrote up. Everything was neat and organized, which impressed him as much as it annoyed him. He didn't wish to like his intern. As much as he preferred his vampire life, being CEO meant he had to have competent staff. If Y/n was competent, offering her a full-time position would be in his best interest. Then there was this issue: if he bit her, the odds of her becoming a Glutton were high. Not because vampire bites automatically turned a mundane person into mindless drones, but because she'd have to work around Jungkook. She'd work around constant temptation. The more a person was around a vampire, the more obsessed they'd become with wanting to be fed on, thus becoming a Glutton.

Jungkook had to deal with Gluttons every day. He thought the word was dumb since they were people who lived off getting bitten by vampires. Apparently a vampire bite produces a sensation of euphoria since the vampire releases a chemical into their body to ease all sense of pain. That was why so many bite victims died less than a week after being bitten: they killed themselves due to the withdrawal.

So those were his options: A) risk Y/n becoming a mindless Glutton or B) risk her killing herself because of how intense the withdrawal was. Very few people have survived vampire bites due to the risks. Jungkook never cared, and he normally wouldn't, but if her blood was as sweet as he thought, he wanted to preserve her.

On the other hand, if she was a Glutton, she'd no longer be his intern since she'd only care about getting bit. As selfish as it sounded, Jungkook wanted to save her blood as a treat he could have whenever he wanted, but if he had it all the time, it'd get boring and he'd have no reason to keep her around. Either way, it seemed like a lose-lose situation.

"It's nice to see you too, but I thought we agreed you could call me Y/n," she said, Jungkook waving his hand to dismiss her. He wasn't interested in flirting with her today, not when he had work to do.

"Perhaps another day, Miss L/n. We have work to do. Sit down." She sat in less than a second. "Good girl. Compile a list of all the actors we blacklisted this past month. Print it out and give it to me so I can present it at my next meeting." She agreed, not saying another word as she opened her laptop and got to work. Obedient, huh? Jungkook adored that about her. It brought tingles to his skin and a smirk to his face.

Regardless, he went to his desk and began his work, stealing peeks at Y/n when he could. She was turned away from him, so she couldn't tell he was watching her. Half an hour must have slipped by. That half hour consisted of Jungkook ignoring his countless emails. All that mattered was Y/n's blood, and the way her vein pulsed on the side of her neck.

Then, he heard a scurry, and a mass of blackness flew inside the room. Jungkook gasped, Y/n snapping around. Her jaw dropped upon seeing Azazel in the room, the bat squawking from distress. Y/n got up, grabbing a few sheets of blank printer paper and rolling it up to make a weapon if needed. Jungkook held his hand out to her and hopped up, Azazel flapping his wings and staying high above them.
