Jimin wasn't sure what he was doing.

As he stared at the screen displaying the recent riots the humans caused, he fiddled with his fingers. America was a mess since the revelation. Cults formed, but that was expected. More people came to Breylin in hopes of feeling a vampire bite. There was a spike in Gluttons thanks to the vampires who couldn't resist the humans that sought them out. The government wasn't sure if vampire laws would be governed on a state or federal level. The political parties were divided, but that was normal.

Times Square felt like a desert. No one was around. Out of fear, the New York governor instated a curfew for any minors. Adults were allowed out past ten, but they chose to follow the curfew too. There were a few who wandered the streets. It wasn't what it used to be.

The only two near Jimin were Taehyung and Hoseok. Jungkook was given a task to prove he had good intentions: sniff out the rebellion. The rebellion had been leading protests and riots, posting on social media, forming cults, and creating Glutton armies. Times Square was broken, graffitied with vampire art that was either vile or heavenly. There were many sides to this war. Some viewed vampires as demons, others saw them as angels, social media depicted them as people like anyone else, and the media was hungry for drama and chose their side depending on what day it was. It was a constant battle. It didn't help that the rebellion was doing everything they could to make Jungkook look bad.

There was one major issue: Jungkook was so busy with cleaning the sins of other vampires that he didn't have much time for Breylin. The rebellion still wanted the reform. Hoseok and Taehyung were appointed to Jungkook's little government so they could help, but they didn't do much. Why would they? After all, they started the rebellion. They never wanted this. They never wanted to get dragged in the middle of war. Their entire purpose for forming the rebellion from the shadows was just for that reason: to stay hidden.

Now, it was all on Jimin. He was drafting vampire laws and codes. Creating a vampire police division. Jin volunteered to spearhead the police while Jimin worked on meeting with other clan leaders in New York City. Eventually, he'd branch out to all of New York, but one step at a time. Jimin could only handle what happened in New York. The other vampires in America were on their own.

Jimin despised the idea of more government. In fact, despite how he wanted to form a democracy, he believed the people should be free of the government breathing down their necks. However, in this moment, he really needed the federal government to make up their fucking minds on vampires. Jimin prayed a federal law would pass protecting them. It didn't help that there were lawsuits breaking out all over the country with companies suing their vampire workers because they didn't disclose that they were a vampire. It sounded silly, but vampires were new territory. If a company could squeeze a quick buck out of them, they'd do it.

"Well, the world is reacting to us just about as well as I expected," Hoseok said, shrugging. "Apparently some countries haven't even found proof of vampires yet. You hear Vietnam is still looking? Same with Myanmar."

"I think both of those countries have bigger priorities than vampires. There's also the countries experimenting on us," Jimin replied.

"And the ones who managed to pass peace acts. Switzerland is ahead of all of us. Vampires already got rights over there. I'm thinking we should move there, maybe start a new life. What's left for us here?" Taehyung asked.

Jimin huffed. "I don't know. Most of our problems are your fault, maybe you should solve them."

Hoseok sighed, coming closer to Jimin. "Neither of us wanted riots to break out. Jimin, you and Jungkook were best friends who loved each other. All we wanted was to give you a kick in the ass and put this petty argument behind. At the end of the day, both of you want the same thing, you just have different ways of going about it. You let politics ruin your life and friendships. I love Jungkook, Jin, and Yoongi with all my heart. Don't you think we're tired of watching you and Jungkook tear us apart more and more?"
