What had he done?

Jimin's jaw was on the floor as he stared at the screen. Other vampires were around him in his museum, the place closed down for the day in anticipation for the protests. Jimin knew it'd be massive, but not like this. Vampires weren't given equal rights. They were given all the rights. Humans were no longer safe.

Next was New York. The president was under Namjoon's control, now it was the governor's turn. Namjoon could fly back to New York and do it in a day if he so pleased. That meant Jimin didn't have much time. Regardless of when Y/n and Jungkook came back, Jimin had to act. The vampires around him would die if he didn't.

"Assemble the police force. We're going to Albany," Jimin said, refusing to peel his eyes away from the screen.

"But sir, Albany is almost three hours away-"

"Do I look like I care? Namjoon can enchant anyone into doing his bidding. If we don't leave now, we're risking him beating us to Albany. He's going for the governor next."

"What about Jungkook?" the man by Jimin's side asked.

"Namjoon got the president, that means Jungkook failed. Whether he's alive or not, I don't know." More accurately, Jimin chose not to think about the status of the two closest people in his life. "But we can't sit around and wait to see the announcement that maybe Jungkook will beat Namjoon. We're not being passive about this. Jungkook put me in charge of Breylin, and I'm not letting us fall in his absence. If Namjoon got Jungkook like I fear, then I'm next in line. Namjoon will come for me next. He'll kill me with ease, I'm no match for him. Our last chance of saving Breylin and New York is protecting the governor. Now gear up! Don't make me ask again!"

The vampires around him scurried away. Jimin was in the process of making a vampire police force, and it wasn't very massive yet. It was better than nothing, but it wasn't enough. It wouldn't be enough to stop Namjoon. Their last hope was warning the governor in time. The special governor's residence was in Albany, which was indeed almost three hours away from their location. Two and a half on a good day, but with panic rising more and more, the streets were crowded. Jimin wouldn't be surprised if it took them four hours to arrive.

There was another issue: the protest. The East Coast was having a protest. Namjoon managed to spread the news of the giant protest to the entire East Coast. Now, as the news continued, more states were joining in. It spread through the United States like a wildfire until there were no states left untouched. The more the night progressed, the more the humans were in danger. Not all of the protests were peaceful. Many of them turned into riots that took dozens of lives, none of which vampires.

"What has he done?" Jimin whispered to himself, watching as the news flickered through the live broadcasts showing the carnage. Namjoon organized this. The world was falling apart. America was the leader, now other countries would follow. Jimin was sure as soon as it turned night in other countries, vampires would protest and fight for their rights. Namjoon could rule the world, if he wanted. He had control over the president of one of the largest countries on Earth.

What was next? Jimin's theory was the governor due to Namjoon's desire to control Breylin. Jimin was sure Namjoon would play the slow game and take his time going to each state to take control of the state governments. After all, controlling the federal government wasn't enough. All fifty states still had their own rules and power, meaning unless Namjoon controlled it all, America wasn't fully his. And Jimin knew it'd start with New York. It'd start with Namjoon getting what he felt he was owed.

Breylin.

Vampires were at the top of the food chain now. It was as impressive as it was disturbing. Jimin attempted not to shiver. He had a job to do. Protect the governor from Kim Namjoon. Without thinking, he sent a text to Y/n to let her know Breylin was safe for the time being, and that he was going to help the governor. It was a dumb decision in hindsight, but it was instinct. It was instinct to protect her.
