Jungkook had been way too gentle with her.

Jungkook eased her into the world of the vampires, showing her all she wanted to know and telling her about even the hardest parts to speak of. However, Jin was a different story. Only two days after she began training with him, he was already expecting her to take him in a fight. There was a passion behind his eyes that terrified her, but she knew she had to stay strong.

"You step before you punch," Jin said, running a hand through his messy hair. The dojo area of Breylin was empty. It was the two of them, no one else. Well, Azazel was there. He was chilling above them, hanging off the wall and scratching behind his ears when necessary. "Tells like that will get you killed. Vampires are faster and stronger than you."

"Gee, you think?"

Y/n didn't step this time. She threw her punch without giving it away, but due to Jin's enhanced speed, he was able to dodge without breaking a sweat. He took a step back, blowing a strand of hair out of his face. His eyes were glowing as they always did when they sparred, and Y/n had to admit it intimidated her. Although she wasn't a child and didn't want to be treated like one, she missed Jungkook's comforting presence. The way he held her and kissed her head, telling her it'd be okay. Jin was the complete opposite. It was too much at times.

"Not good enough. You have to work on your speed," he said.

"You do realize the vampires I'll be fighting won't have the same speed as you, right? Maybe you should give me a real combat experience instead of using your abilities. You're the only known vampire with your speed. Am I wrong?" His silence gave her an answer. "Exactly. So maybe you should tone down the sass. Oh, and the speed while you're at it."

"I'm trying to protect you."

"I discovered this world less than two weeks ago and you're already expecting me to know everything about vampires. Maybe instead of knocking me on my ass every ten seconds, you should teach me strategy. Knowing how to fight isn't enough. I'm a human, Mr. Kim. No matter how amazing I am at fighting, I'm naturally at a disadvantage because I'm not a vampire. You suck at teaching if you seriously never thought about teaching me a vampire's weakness."

Jin poked his tongue against his cheek. After a beat, he undid the wraps on his hands. They were drenched with the liquids that came out of his body. A vampire's anatomy amazed her. They were dead, yet they had a pulse and could still sweat. They had no limitations on what their bodies could do, as far as Y/n was aware. Oh well, she wasn't a STEM major, she wasn't about to look into the science of how they worked. Vampires technically resurrected, meaning they must have had partial function of their heart return to them, otherwise they wouldn't be able to move. Right? Eh, this was far too complicated for Y/n's art major brain.

"Alright, you win. Sit. And watch your language," Jin said, motioning to the rocks around the area. She grimaced. Seriously? Rocks? For an advanced, powerful vampire clan, they didn't have great chairs. So, Y/n sat across from him, Jin shaking his hands to get any excess sweat off of them.

"Vampires and their weaknesses," Y/n said, leaning a bit closer. "Are your weaknesses like the movies? Garlic and the word God?"

"God. God dammit. Oh my God, fucking hell."

"Okay, okay. I get your point, wiseass. Just answer my question."

"Language." She gave him a glare he ignored. "We have a very specific set of weaknesses," Jin said, hesitating before he continued. "We're immortal, but that doesn't mean we can't die from our wounds. Our bodies preserve us for longer, but we can still die from things like stab wounds and bullets. It isn't just a stake through the heart like the movies will have you think. If we get shot in the head, we die just like anyone else. We get stabbed through the stomach? We can last longer than humans, but we'll still die without blood. Our regeneration is caused by blood. We can suffer terrible injuries, but as long as we feed, we'll be fine."
