Azazel nuzzled Y/n's cheek.
She laughed as she urged him to fly around. Since she was taking care of Azazel full-time, she had to treat him like a dog: let him out, feed him, give him all his basic needs. It was entertaining and never once exhausting. She enjoyed every second she spent with Azazel. It was different with Azazel than with other pets. Not that there was anything wrong with other pets like dogs, but she could communicate with Azazel better. He understood English and could type on her phone and laptop whenever he wanted to speak directly to her. It was perfect, really.
Azazel did his business and flew around a bit, enjoying the night sky as she stood behind her apartment complex. It was in the city, so there were countless buildings around cloaking them from any other people around. She heard the cars passing in the distance, but she couldn't see them. She was wedged between her building and the one across from her. It boxed her in, but she didn't mind. It wasn't quite an alleyway since there were no exits, but it looked like one. She had to come out there once a week to take out her trash. The dumpster was next to her, and thankfully, it wasn't filled, so the smell wasn't bad.
Azazel came back and landed on the gravel, tapping his paws against the terrain. She chuckled and knelt, holding her hand out. Azazel sniffed it, then licked it.
"Sometimes you act more like a dog than a bat," she said, Azazel snickering. She softly smiled. "I had a dog once. A family dog. My parents had one long before they had me, and I grew up with a chocolate lab. He passed when I was young, but I remember him having the cutest little nose. Your nose reminds me of his." And maybe that was why she was so attached to Azazel: he reminded her of the pet she had growing up. No matter how bad her emotions got, she always had her chocolate lab. He always brought her comfort. In a strange way, Azazel was doing the same.
Azazel jumped up, landing on her shoulder. She peeked at the back door of her apartment, looking through the window to make sure no one was around so she could safely slip back inside. Right when she was about to enter, a cold settled on her skin. Goosebumps broke out down her neck and back, her arm hair rising from the sudden shift in her body.
Azazel licked her face when he noticed her pause. She glanced at the bat. Without needing to say a word, Azazel understood her meaning. The bat flew up and scouted the area, Y/n staying by the door. As much as she wanted to enter and forget this ever happened, she knew that if who she thought was out there was truly there, entering her apartment wouldn't save her. It was better to face him away from her roommates. Away from the kitchen, where there were weapons he could use against her such as knives.
Azazel came back and dropped down in front of her. He raised his wings as if preparing for a fight, his eyes dead ahead. She saw the scarlet shade. Then he came out of the trees. He was donning a suit that hugged his figure. It showed off his muscles, the dark suit matching his long locks. They were wavy. Curled, almost. He had a curtain in front of his face thanks to how long his hair had become, him using his long fingers to drape them back. Y/n cursed at herself for noticing the veins on his hands along with the tattoos on his one side. She got a peek at the ink crawling up the sides of his arm, and it had her knees going weak.
Jungkook approached her with his eyes fizzling away. What replaced the scarlet was the chestnut she was used to. He came closer than she would have liked, and as soon as he came within her proximity, Azazel squawked at him. Jungkook poked his tongue against his cheek and backed off, Azazel keeping his wings out as if protecting Y/n.
"I see you've changed sides," Jungkook said, Azazel deflating at that. His wings lowered, but he quickly put them back up, acting as if he never stopped for a second. Jungkook ignored it, focusing his attention on Y/n. "I know you don't want to see me."
