Suffer, As I Have

Her heart felt like it stopped.

Jin was there, staring down Namjoon without a hint of fear in his gaze. Y/n wished she had the courage to do the same, but her ears were screeching at her to get away from the sirens. Her brain was throbbing and pushing against the walls of her skull. It was trying to escape herself. Trying to run away from the horror of the loud noises her ears weren't ready to handle.

Her hands were covering her delicate flesh. She didn't need her ears to hear what Jin was saying. His posture was firm, his jaw set and his eyes on the target ahead. Despite all the torture her ears were exposed to, it fell quiet. There were no noises except for her soft breaths. It was like staring at her dream. For years, she yearned for a figure to protect her. A parent. And there Jin was, not an ounce of hesitation in his glowing irises as he faced the man who used to be his best friend. All for his daughter.

For her.

There were tears streaming down her face before she could stop them. Jimin was trying to get up, but his thigh wasn't allowing him. Jungkook was still holding off the countless guards. Through it all, her heart was focused on her true father. Kim Seokjin.

"Please," Namjoon said. She didn't realize he was crying until she heard his voice crack. "Don't make me hurt you."

"You hurt my daughter," was Jin's only response before the fight erupted into a sea of flames.

Jin and Namjoon clashed together. Y/n couldn't tell if it was out of love or respect that Namjoon didn't use his most powerful ability. Y/n had a feeling it was a mix of both.

She had no time. Jin was doing this to give her an avenue of escape. With a deep breath, she stood, her legs wobbling the second she got on them. Her movements carried her to the fallen Jimin, helping him up while his new bat went to join the fight Azazel and Jungkook were in. Without a word, her and Jimin went through the door. There were no guards in this sector. Or so she thought.

There were shouts that added to the cage known as her mind. They jostled around her brain until she yelled, leaning against Jimin. He wrapped an arm around her and limped, dragging them both through the hall as the few guards remaining took their places. She sobbed. She could hear their weapons preparing to fire. After all they went through, dying in a prison wasn't appealing. She had so much more to do and see. An acting career, a father to thank, a brother to make up with. Yet here she was. In a prison, dancing with Mr. Grim.

"Don't look, Y/n," Jimin said, burying her head against his chest. "Just don't look. Focus on me, okay?" If she wasn't a vampire, she wouldn't have heard the edge in his voice. The lip. The way each word rubbed against his tongue before he shot it out.

Although she wanted to beg and scream, she gripped his shirt tighter and agreed. There were more shouts. More movements. She heard a safety click. Then another. Another. The guards were about to open fire, and Jimin and her were right in their line of sight.

There were hisses and groans, Jimin panting as he led her through the room. She desperately wished to look, but his hand on the back of her head made it impossible. Tears dripped their way down to the top of Y/n's head. There were tears dripping down her cheeks, too. The room was a mess of blood, sweat, and tears, her figure trembling from the thought of having more hallways to get to.

"What's going on?" she asked in a mutter, feeling another door open.

"Don't worry," he whispered, keeping his arm around her. "Jin's got us."

She realized what the shouting was. It wasn't guards barking orders to each other. No. It was them shouting in terror as Jin killed them, battling all their enemies at once. He was her guardian angel, watching over them as they continued through each hall.
