Chapter- 40 Digging

After their house hunting, they spent the rest of the weekend at home. Neither of them felt like leaving, but Bakugo soon became sick of takeout food. Thus she was spoiled with home-cooked meals prepared by the sexiest most explosive chef around. Alas both of them had to return to work on Monday.

~Monday~

Bakugo dropped her off outside the Todoroki agency as per usual, and her new shadows took notice. 

Dabi munched on his sandwich in boredom as he watched the little hero throw her head back laughing freely as she slapped off Bakugo's seeking hands. 

"You know, they really are so cute," Toga giggled from her place by the window. She was stomach down kicking her heels excitedly as she watched the couple. 

"You think? They look stupid to me," he grunted around a big bite of a turkey sandwich. 

"You've never been in love Dabi?"

He kicked her hard with his boot making her laugh. "Of course I haven't, brat."

Toga rested her chin on her hands and chirped, "Well I have!"

"Of course you have," he sighed in annoyance. He scratched at the staples around his belt line and stated, "You in love with someone right now?"

"Maybe." She turned towards him and pouted, "but Shiggy isn't going to share her."

"You're not wrong about that," he muttered as he tossed his trash into the corner. "He's becoming obsessed."

"Did you hear him last night? I know he was tipsy, but oh my gosh Dabi! He just wouldn't stop talking about her!"

"it makes me fucking sick," Dabi cursed. "Speaking of fucking sick."

Shoto Todoroki jogged across the street to catch up to Lore's walking figure now that Bakugo had driven away. Dabi narrowed his eyes in curiosity as Shoto picked her up from behind and hugged her off her feet making her let off a girly squeal. 

"Wait...I thought she was with Ground Zero? I sense drama ✨!" Toga cheered as she pulled out her binoculars to get a closer look. 

"As did I..."

Both of them watched in interest as Lore ruffled Shoto's split hair. It looked almost...familial. Too loving to be just friends, and way too affectionate to be coworkers. 

"If you're fucking your boss, are you really going to be hugging him in public?"

"I would!"

"You're psychotic Toga. I meant normal people."

"Oh! Yeah, I wouldn't know," she giggled. "But they do seem super close. Want me to go get more info? I still have some of that sidekick's blood."

"Yeah, go change," he muttered as he continued to watch Shoto walk Lore back into the agency. His fingers never strayed too far from the small of her back. 

He heard sucking sounds and turned around to see Toga twirl around as her body changed into that creepy water-like skin. "These white leg warmers are super cute!"

"You look like a freak. You have the flash drive to hack into their computers?"

She yanked out the drive she kept on a chain around her now voluptuous waist. "You know it!"

"Okay, then get in there and find us more information on this moon bitch."

Toga, being much taller in this form, went up on her toes and kissed Dabi's scarred cheek. She cackled when he aggressively wiped off her kiss.
