A Cassarian Story
Varian always knew that he cared for Cassandra. But he didn't realize how much until she was gone.
Six long years after Cassandra leaves Corona, she finally returns. Varian is overjoyed, but she comes bearing terrible news. A stran...
"What's taking them so long?" Cassandra says. She paces back and forth, and then stares into the water where Varian and Misty disappeared. "I'm about ready to go in after them!"
"Your boy can handle himself," Hugo says with his typical smirk. "Is there, uh, any particular reason you're so antsy?"
"NO!" Cassandra shouts in his face.
"Uh-huh," Hugo says. "I don't believe it."
"Wait," Abhu says. "Are you implying—?"

Before he can finish, Varian and Misty resurface. Cassandra breathes a sigh of relief. She did not want to hear what Hugo was implying...
"So? Did you find a way to get to the orb?" Hugo asks.
"Maybe, I think. Possibly," Varian says. Is it just Cass, or does he seem a bit flustered?
"Okay then," Abhu says with annoyance. "Gonna tell us what the big fuss is all about?"
"Misty can fabricate a sphere of oxygen, allowing us to breathe underwater," Varian explains.
"Whoa, is it completely dry inside?" Hugo asks.
"I think so?" Misty replies.
"Awesome! We can use your ability to take some fire down to where the orb is!" Hugo says eagerly. "Nice job, Misty."
Misty smiles proudly, but only for a moment. "There's still a problem, though," she says. "I can only create air bubbles under the water. And, well, we can't take the fire under for me to make a bubble around it."
"Great! So we're back to square one," Abhu says sarcastically.
"Does he have to be here, now?" Varian whispers to Cass and Hugo.
"As a matter of fact, Achoo, I have the solution!" Hugo announces.
"Of course you do..." Varian grumbles. He then whispers again to Cass, "Does he have to be here?"
