I ran and ran, away from whatever that was, after I ran into that girl with weird clothes, light brown hair, and blue eyes. I ran into the trees. They were so tall that I could barely see the sky.
What did I just do? I ran away from home. I was so angry that I didn’t even know what I was doing. I broke into the school! I ran away.
I bent down on the floor and started crying. Why? Why? I did something horrible. I almost fling out my portal Ray to bring me home, but I couldn’t do that. All that hard work for nothing. I was here to find my real parents. In addition, what I thought was my family lied to me for 16 years! What I longed for was my mother’s hugs. Don’t think like that, they are not your family. Crying is not going to fix anything. Get up. I told myself. I wiped the last of my tears dry, leaving a smear of wetness behind. Probably everyone was looking for me now. But I can’t let them find me.
Right so first thing first. Who was the girl? Whoever that girl was she was probably following me and told lots of her friends. I hoped that as I had thrown her off my tail but you can never be sure. I so wanted to look for my parents, but I didn’t know where to start and I needed to blend in more. So I guess I should explore first so I can get the feel for this place.
I walked outside of the tree line. Letting the sun fall on my face. Oh my gosh. I have never seen a place like this before. Lots more humans were walking on a tan path, some even running. Why would they do that? I suddenly wished that Ms. Della would have teached us more about humans. It looked like I was in some clearing with short grass and some benches around, with trees here and there. In the distance it looked like there were lots of tiny houses. It was extraordinary. I have never seen so many humans in one place.
It wasn’t that busy, but when the human’s passed by they stared at me like I was a lost dog. I probably looked very funny with my messy hair and sticks and dirt everywhere on me. And of course they were looking at my puffy dress. I need to find clothes that blend me in more. But first I am going to explore.
I walked around the clearing, there was even a little structure with all sorts of things to play around with. I eagerly wanted to go and see but that would draw more attention to myself since only the human children were playing in it. And attention was the last thing I wanted.
Finally I was done walking around and started heading towards the houses to see if there were any clothes that I could borrow. But before I left a lady with red hair said “hi, are you lost?”
She looked nice enough, she asked sweetly and not in a cruel way. She had light blonde hair and was pushing a stroller that fit 3 kids and all of them were screaming.
I looked quickly at the kids and back at her. “No, I was just walking around”
“Oh, ok. But may I ask, why are you wearing a dress in this heat?”
I did notice that it was getting extremely hot in this dress. But I had to get away from this lady as fast as I could.
“I like wearing this dress. Have a nice day” I turned to leave without looking back at her.
I found a white shirt and plain pants that were too big for me hanging on a wire outside. How nice of these people to leave their clothes out for people that need them.
I decided that I should start looking for my parents. I pulled out my adoption form to look at my parents' names even though I had them memorized. America Meyer and Chase Meyer. Where should I even start? I knocked on the nearest door and asked them I’d they knew who America Meyer is or Chase Meyer. She said no but if I wanted to find someone I should go to the police station. The only problem was I had no idea what that was let alone where it was.
I didn’t want to bug the lady about where the police station was so I went to another house.
This time this lady was much more helpful and gave me a map to help. It was up the road then a right then a state st. A left. There should be a blue building there. I said thank you.

Finally finding the police station with lots of wrong turns and dead ends. At least I got to see what was here in the human world. I was standing in front of what looked like a person that worked here. He was wearing a blue hat with a little bit of brown hair poking out of it, and uniform that said U.S police. His name tag read Ben. He was reading a book without even paying attention to me.
    “Umm” I said
He still didn’t look up at me.
“Ummm, Ben,” I said a little louder.
He looked up at me with a bored expression and said “sorry miss,” not sounding sorry at all “can I help you?”
“Yes, can you help me find these people, America Meyer and Chase Meyer?” I said as politely as I could.
     “Are they missing?”
“No, I just want to know where they are”
“Ok, one second” he said, still bord.
He was typing into a machine. It was so small, how was he going to find them on that?
“So sorry miss, I don’t know how to say this but it says their dead”
Dead? No, that's impossible, I wanted to shout. All that work to find nothing. Nothing. Fine. He must be lying. If they died, then I couldn’t find them. I knew that they were not dead.
“Can you tell me the last place they were in?”
“Sure” he typed some more. “The last thing that is entered in their file was that they went to Pine Oak’s high school.”
Hmmm, I guess I have to go there then.
“There is a lot of stuff in their history. can I have your phone number so that I can call you if I find more?”
Phone number? What was that? I don’t have one.
“Umm, how about I can come back in a few days and check in”
“Oh, ya that would work. Can I have your name?”
    “Lily”
    “Last name” he asked.
    “No last name”
I turned and left the station.
