Phil

Sitting by the wall curled in on himself Tommy looked so small. He looked tiny compared to the large painting of Phil's family he was sitting under. He was protective of all of his coven, but the bond he had with his sons was something he had never experienced anywhere else in his long life.

Protect-Protect-Protect

"Tommy you aren't a fledgling are you?" Phil asked gently, he knelt on the floor so he was at Tommys level. The boy was staring into his knees, refusing to look up at Phil.

"No I'm not." Tommy said, more bitterly than Phil expected. "I'm, I'm half human."

Phil expected as much.

A Long time ago vampires were most commonly made into existence. The turning of a human they were fond of into one of their own. When the population of vampires became large enough they negotiated a treaty with the humans. Frightened by the humans' new anatomic weapons the vampires agreed to live their lives separately from the rest of the world. Animal blood was like vegetables, Humans were like dessert, they could live off animals even if Phil did occasionally miss the old days. Now vampires were born. With all the qualities of a vampire but weaker and not immortal. They could be claimed to make what they called 'a true vampire' going though the same process as claiming a human during the olden days.

But a person made by both human and vampire who was unclaimed was rare indeed. Phil did feel a sense of its wrongness. The two should not be mixed. Phil wondered if being both hurt Tommy at all. He wondered why the Greater Dream SMP Coven let Tommy in if they weren't going to turn him.

"How long were you with your coven?" Phil asked.

Tommy blew a breath through his teeth. "For forever."

"And they did not claim you?"

And apparently that was the wrong thing to ask because Tommy sowled and tensed up. "So what? You don't know a thing you prick. This conversation is over."

Phil sighed. "Tommy, I am just trying to understand."

"No you don't understand." Tommy snapped. "You don't know a thing about me so shut up."

Phil thought about how he could salvage this conversation.

"I just wanna go home."

"You can't go back to living by yourself." Phil protested. "Vampires are built to be together."

"I'm not a full vampire though. And I have people, my people." Tommy said. "They are just a little far away."

"And if you went back to them would they let you in?" Phil asked doubtfully.

"Of course they effe'n would. Once I tell them I have learned my lesson." Tommy said. "Of course. I'm just not allowed to cross on to the lands to go tell them."

The last thing Phil wanted was to send Tommy back to whatever base he made himself, just waiting for the people that didn't want him nor would come back for him. It made him sick to think of people who would do that to one of their own.

Teach them a lesson-Protect the fledgling

Phil was more than happy to house Tommy here. But there was no way Tommy would stay on his own accord. Phil could already see this wild spirit in his eyes and the stubbornness in his soul. He could sense his strong loyalty. Tommy would wait for as long as it took.
