TommyIt was the middle of the day, Tommy knew he should be asleep. He could see the sunshine through the cracks in his curtain. But sleeping in a new place was difficult for him. How could one
rest when there were so many unknowns. A liar was always protective of his secrets.Deciding sleep was useless Tommy slipped out of bed. Dressed only in the borrowed sleepwear Wilbur had lent him, he left his room.
After all the manor was huge, and if Tommy was going to stay here for a while he might as well get acquainted. Except for the cobblestone watch tower the whole manor had a dark spruce cabin like feel. The carpets were leafy green matching the trim on the walls, that complemented the tables, couches and other furniture Tommy passed by nicely. Which meant he quickly got turned around because it was impossible to single out any specific landmarks.
Tommy was not lost necessarily, just a bit mixed up.
"Do you need something?"
Tommy startled and turned around with a jump. By an open door was a freakishly tall guy who was definitely not one-hundred percent vampire. That fact made Tommy relax ever so slightly.
"Uh no? Why would I need something? I'm a big man. If I needed something I would go get it for myself." He replied.
"Well since this is the third time you've passed my door I assume you're lost. Its okay, I got lost the first time I came here too. I'm Ranboo." He said.
"Nice to meet you Ranboob." Tommy miss said on purpose. "And I'm not lost so you can go back to your beauty rest."
"I could point you in the right direction first." Ranboo offered, tying his robe over his silk pajamas and closing the door behind him.
"I said I wasn't lost so go away." Tommy retorted, making a shooing motion for the other boy to go back into his room.
"Okay, suit yourself." Ranboo shrugged. "But for no real reason I'm just going to tell you the way to the tower is right up those stairs." He pointed to a staircase Tommy had not seen before.
"Not lost."
"Okay." Ranboo agreed, easily going back into his room.
Tommy sighed when the prick closed his door. He debated going the opposite direction just to be petty. He wasn't a petty person.
Who was he kidding? He was going the opposite direction. As Tommy walked away from the pointed out staircase he half expected for someone to pop out and get him in massive trouble.
'Act like you belong with enough confidence and nobody will question it.' Dream had told him that once. Only because he was a really good sympathetic person. Even though Tommy was less than the lowest vampire on the totem pole, Dream always found time to talk with him and teach him things. Still Tommy couldn't decide if he missed the man or not. Perhaps it was better to not think about it too much.
He definitely missed Tubbo. Tommy thought miserably. He found light spilling in and saw it was coming from an open balcony. Walking out into the afternoon sun ment the light was not too harsh. Maybe a little bright to where if anyone saw him they would question why a vampire, especially a fledgling would voluntarily be out in it. But not enough to raise any dangerous suspicions.
There was one perk to being half human, Tommy could still feel the sun rays on his skin. Several times he would try and explain it to Tubbo. But explaining warmth to a vampire was like explaining color to a blind person.
