Come to us. We can make you great Wilbur Soot We-e-can-

"Shut up!" Wilbur shouted he stopped in his running to hold his hands over his ears, but it did nothing to stop it. It was as though the voices were coming internally. But that could not be right because it was too loud and did not sound like his thoughts. It pulsed with pain that stemmed from the sides of his head. Wilbur felt like he was fighting to stay coherent and conscious.

After a few agonizing moments, the pain seemed to dial down.

Wilbur let out a short breath through his teeth.

He ran up the stairs of the tower two at a time and burst into Tommy's room. The boy was sitting by the window with one of Technoblade's dogs in his lap.

"Wait, the dogs aren't supposed- never mind Sapnap has escaped." Wilbur gasped out, a little out of breath.

"Wait, like actually?" Tommy exclaimed, alarmed.

"Yes, and he is either coming here or trying to escape." Wilbur guessed. "But either way, I need you to come with me so we can find him." And so I can keep an eye on you, Wilbur said to himself.

Tommy nodded seriously and drew his new sword. There was no time to put on armor so Tommy just slipped on his mask. Wilbur stopped by his room to get his gear and the two of them stalked around the castle with swords drawn.

Wilbur turned to look at Tommy to make sure he was still following a few times because he was so silent. Wilbur wasn't expecting him to be so good at sneaking with laser focus. Of course, with all that training he had been doing recently, it could be a new development.

As they checked every nook of the upstairs, Wilbur realized how scary corners can be until you are rounding them with the anticipation of a crazed murder to come running at you at any moment.

So when Wilbur saw the glint of a sword he immediately pounced, pushing the other to the floor and pressing his blade against his chest and kicking his enemy's sword away with his foot.

"Ow! Will your knee is digging into my side."

Wilbur quickly got to his feet. "Fundy?"

Fundy rolled over and coughed. "Yep, ow."

"Sorry." Wilbur apologized, holding a hand out to him.

Fundy looked at it for a moment before grasping it and letting Wilbur pull him up. Tommy handed his sword back to him.

Fundy took it and sheathed the blade. "I am guessing you found out about the escape, then? I've cleared the west wing of the second story."

Wilbur ruffled his hair. "That's my boy! Me and Tommy have already cleared the east, so let's go down stairs and help. Though the others might have already finished that part of the manor." He led the boys down the grand staircase, and gave them instructions for Tommy and Fundy to search the rooms while he watched the corridors.

He waited for Fundy and Tommy to clear the kitchen before they moved on. Wilbur knew the most effective way to search, considering the manor's maze-like design, was to start on the outskirts and spiral inwards. Even once in a while, he would glance out the large floor and lean out of the windows to see Phil in the sky, or Nikki prowling around the forest.

Then as they walked down the long stretch of hallways, the three of them could watch each other's backs. But apparently, they weren't as good at this as they thought they were. A voice that was way too close came seemingly out of nowhere. Wilbur turned to see Sapnap casually leaning against the wall with a sword in his hand and a knife strapped to his boot.
