Chapter 29

No, but like tell me why this is like an actual vibe?

I got an A star on my art project! And 100 percent in ma Greek test because I'm a swaggy queen. Also we ordered takeout and tomorrow's Friday and I'm in a good mood.

Nini's pov 

I sat down quietly in front of my vanity while Kourtney stood behind me and started on my hair. It was basically fine, she was just sound some last minute touch ups and then she would get started with the makeup. "Hello?! Earth to Nini?"

"Hm, what?"

"I was tryna get your attention for like The last 20 seconds. Anyway I was gonna ask you if you liked the hair."

"Yep! It's really good, Kourt, I love it"

"Cool, Anyways I'm gonna start on the makeup now if that's fine"

"Yeah! I can't wait to see what the goddess does to me today!"

"Stop it" she giggled. We sat in silence while she dusted my eyelids with light blue shimmers. "So...why are your cheeks so red. Like I don't  even have to apply bush, red. What happened to you? You seem all flustered and stuff as well"

"I don't know. Sometimes it just...happens I guess"

"Sure. I mea, I know that's a lie. I can tell. I have an idea or a little thing that's it's about a certain Ricky Bowen,  it I won't say anything. I mean you're dating Jake and he's with Lily"

"I was gonna ask how that happened" I laughed.

"Yeah...why's Lily into him? Like wouldn't she be with Jake? No offence obviously"

"I don't really know at this point." She continued finishing up on my makeup in silence. And I started to think. What if Big Red hadn't interrupted us? What would've happened? I mean we wouldn't have stopped with our moment thing...right? Maybe I'm going crazy but if I forget that I'm with Jake for a second and that he's with Lily I didn't really regret almost kissing him. Fuck. I almost kissed Ricky. And I wasn't gonna pull away. What is wrong with me?! I'm literally dating someone. And he's also dating someone. Plus he's been the biggest jerk and still hasn't apologized to me yet. I just need to forget about this whole thought and Ricky completely.

General pov

The gang finished with the process of getting ready. It was now 5pm. Nini's moms both insisted that they do a photo shoot in their garden. Nini's garden had fairy lights hung from the trees. The  garden was quite small but it was cute and elegant in a way. They were posing next to eachother. Girls pictures, boys pictures and group pictures. They did some couple ones as well. Gina and EJ did a hilarious one where EJ was bowing down to Gina as she was the queen of hearts. They were in the midst of photo talking when Jake and Lily both showed up. (Pretend Nini has one of those gardens where you can just walk around the house to see, so Jake and Lily saw the pictures being taken and the noise and went of there). Everyone was surprised and no it really invited them but they were all too nice to tell the, to leave. In all fairness they did try to dress up, Jake had a massive piece of cardboard stuck to a shirt with duck tape that said 'DOOR' as in the door that Alsace has to fit through in the movie. The costume was clearly very last minute and there was no effort. Lily in the other hand put too much effort. Her middle name was Rose and she dressed up as one. She said that it was also one of the flowers from the movie. But she was wearing an ever so slightly piece if modest lingerie. It was still very revealing but it was school friendly...barely.

They continued with pictures and the whole group seemed to notice the odd behaviour between Ricky and Nini. They didn't have any arguments or anything. Wouldn't that mean they were at peace? Well not quite. They were very awkward. As in very. They would always try their best to stay away from eachother. They wouldn't make eye contact and didn't say a word to eachother. They were often caught staring at the other whit they weren't looking. As well as the group noticing Jake also noticed and the blood inside him boiled, red.

They pulled up to the Halloween party. The gym was totally decked out in fake spider webs and pumpkins everywhere. Jake and Lily departed off claiming to join the rest later, while the gang went to the food table. "This drink name is so weird. 'Lizard blood'" EJ laughed reading out the label for the punch. They laughed along with him and continued to talk and have a great time.

At one point during the night Nini went to the bathroom. She left the bathroom and bumped into someone. David. He was a relatively nice person and was dressed as a vampire. Nini didn't really know him that well but she was always up for meeting new people. "I'm David" he said shyly, but in a flirty manner 

"I'm Nini, nice to meet you"

"Nice..to..uh meet you too"

"Are you okay? You seem a little stressed"

"I'm okay. You're just really, really pretty"

"Aww thank you"

"No problem. Now can I please maybe get your number?"

"Um...yeah I guess so here it's-"

Jake ran in to the scene and punched him straight in the jaw, and David flinched and stepped away slightly as a reaction.  David adjusted himself and processing the pain and the fact that he was just punched started to get mad. But he didn't punch back as he had some restraint, and he didn't want to bat into trouble."Sorry, bro. I didn't know. Now I do. No need to punch me like that"

"Just go away"

"Geez, fine I'll leave" he sneaked at wink at Nini before wandering off. "What the fuck was that?" Asked Nini angrily.

"He was literally about to ask you out!"

"Do you not trust me enough to know that I would never do that?! I'm fully aware that we're dating and nothing will happen. It's embarrassing for you to come and beat someone up just because you think that I can't handle my own problems" 

"Fine then" he walked away coldly and Nini went back to her friends. Ashlyn went up to her "Do you wanna talk abo-"

"No, I'm good"

 A longer chapter today. Tomorrow's chapter I know will be my favourite. I already have the idea and everything. I have a Latin test tmr but it's pretty easy so I'm not terribly concerned.
