Alicent

Alicent screamed and covered her mouth as she watched Rhaenyra plummeting to the ground. She had been watching the whole incident unfold from the confines of Raenyra's chambers. She gasped as Rhaenyra's silver hair vanished.

Something had caught her.

Alicent paced her room waiting for Rhaenyra's return. Her fingers were bleeding profusely but she couldn't seem to get herself to care. All she could think about was Rhaenyra. How she had kissed her hands before leaving; It made her smile like an imbecile. The door then flew open and Rhaenyra skipped in followed by her uncle, Daemon.

"Look who came to help rule while my father is away!" Rhaenyra said laughing and motioning to Daemon. "He flew in on Caraxes and he was watching me fly when saw me fall, so he caught me." She was smiling. Too much.

"Rhaenyra... I thought you were going to die. How can you be smiling?" She asked tears forming in her eyes.

"Because I didn't die, and look." She pulled the small dragon pin from her cloak and handed it to Alicent before resuming the conversation she had been having with Daemon before.

Alicent looked down at the pin, it was covered in the boy's blood. Tears ran down her face as Rhaenyra and Daemon laughed. She sat the pin down on Rhaenyra's desk and left her chambers. She'd had enough.

***

Alicent woke on the morrow to a woman screaming. She rushed out of her chambers to find a small woman cradling Martyn at the end of the stairs. Guards and her husband were trying to pry her away from the boy but nothing could loosen her grasp.

Alicent looked behind her to find the boy's younger siblings peeking out from around the corner. She walked up to them with a solemn look on her face.

"Is that Martyn?" A small boy asked. He was about the age of ten with the same blonde hair as Martyn. Alicent nodded and the boy looked down. A girl with yellow hair next to him began to cry.

"Head to your chambers. This is not fit for children to see." Alicent requested. They listened and left for their chambers except for the oldest boy, the boy who Alicent had spoken to before. He shook his head. She nodded and walked back to her chambers. He deserved to see.

Later Alicent opened her door to escort Rhaenyra but she was met with her father. He stepped forward pushing her back into her chambers.

"Is this your doing? This dead-" It seemed as if he had an allergy to the word. "This dead boy." Alicent looked up at him, with pain written across her face.

"No, father. I had no part in his death. There was a note." She was telling the truth, he did not believe her.

"How would you know that if you were not present? You mustn't lie Alicent. You were the only one to enter his chamber, you were the only one to exit his chamber, servants saw you leave the ball with him but I am the only one who knows the truth." She didn't know what else to say to him. "There will be less consequences if you tell them what you know, daughter."

"Father, I am late to accompany Rhaenyra. I must go." She attempted to walk past him but he grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her back.

"Rhaenyra is spending the day with Daemon in the dragon pit, and you will accompany me to the meeting with the small council and the Lannister's. You must tell us what you saw therefore consequences can be dealt with accordingly. The Lannisters require it, and we must avoid any conflicts." He said sitting her down on the end of her bed. "You mustn't tell them anything about your night in his chambers, only the truth of who killed him." He turned and kneeled at her side. "Only the truth of who killed him." He said again making it perfectly clear.
