Alicent

Alicent picked at her fingers as she listened to the king give his welcome speech for the heirs tournament. Rhaenyra was late yet again, as she always was, for everything.

"Queen Aemma has begun her labors!" The king announced right as Rhaenyra ran to her seat."May the luck of the seven shine upon all combatants!" He said closing his speech and beginning the tournament. The first contestants rode at each other, the one on the white horse quickly winning.

"A mystery knight?" Rhaenyra asked.

"No, a cole from the storm lands." Alicent said. She had heard a bit about him before he arrived.

"I've never heard of House Cole." Rhaenyra remarked.

After a few more rounds they had grown bored and resorted to gossip.

"Lord Sokeworth's daughter is promised to that young Tarly squire." Rhaenyra said.

"Lord Massey's son?" Alicent asked quite intrigued in this new information.

"Mm-hm." She said taking a breath. "They're to be married as soon as he wins his knighthood."

"Best get on with it." She said turning back to the entertainment before remembering something she had caught earlier. "I heard that Lady Elinor is hiding a swollen belly beneath her dress." She said smiling at Rhaenyra and earning a grin back. They were both distracted form their conversation by a knight being brutally knocked off of his horse leaving both of their mouths ajar. The Cole knight had won again.

She turned her head to see Rhaenyra ask Ser Harrold about him. A sharp feeling shot throgh her stomach causing her to look away. What had made Rhaenyra so interested in him? Ser Harrold went on to say that he was common-born, but he knew nothing else. Curious. Alicent thought.

It was now Prince Daemons turn to choose his opponent. Alicent rolled her eyes but was taken aback, Rhaenyra was looking at him and giggling. The way she only giggled in Alicent's company. The same feeling as before shot through Alicent's body. It was almost unbearable to keep sitting there and view this. She could feel herself pick more and more of her skin off, but she couldn't care less at the moment.

"Prince Daemon chooses Ormund Hightower of Oldtown, eldest son of Hobert Hightower lord of Oldtown." Alicent's cousin, whom she lived with on her time away. He was doing this on purpose to get back at her father. She began biting her finger and Rhaenyra reached over and grabbed her hand. She looked over and gave a small smile and set her hand down.

Daemon inevitably won the match and came up to get his favor. Rhaenyra got up at walked to the railing and Alicent hesitantly went with her.

"Nicely done, Uncle." Rhaenyra congratulated.

"Thank you, Princess." He said stopping when he noticed Alicent walk up to the railing. "Now I'm fairly certain I can win these games, Lady Alicent." He said smirking. He knew she disliked him, but it seemed he wanted to make it even more so. "Having your favor would all but assure it." She smiled and headed over to grab a flower crown to place on his lance. As she looked up her eyes met with her father, and his disapproval was obvious.

"Good luck, my Prince." She said as she gave Daemon the favor. She took her seat enjoying the festivities a bit more now that she knew her father was not happy with her actions.

The crowd gasped as a knights head was bludgeoned and another match was won. Alicent looked over at Rhaenyra and saw the fear in her eyes. Alicent's fingers started to bleed with the abuse.

It was now the Cole Knight against Daemon.

After a few brutal hits, Daemon was knocked off. In a fit of rage he pushed his squire to the ground and grabbed his sword. It made Alicent chuckle a little at his failure.

It was a long and agonizing fight which ended with Daemon yielding to the Cole Knight.

Rhaenyra and her both ran to the railing to get a look at this mysterious boy.

"Gods, he's dornish." Alicent gasped as he took of his helmet.

"I was hoping to ask for the Princess's favor." He said, quite out of breath. Rhaenyra smiled and went to get a flower crown. When she got back she threw it over the railing and stepped back.

"I wish you luck, Ser Criston."

"Princess." He said excusing himself. Alicent looked over at Rhaenyra and felt her stomach sicken at the way she was smiling at him, yet again.

They went back to their seats and began conversing again when a commotion disrupted their focus. Alicent stood and turned to see the small council filing out of the balcony. And then she turned back to Rhaenyra, and saw her face.

Somehow she knew what had happened.
