Rhaenyra

It had been two days since Rhaenyra had spoken to Alicent. She had ran about the keep, attempting to find Alicent to talk with her about what had been going on, but she had made no progress. She hadn't even meant to find her when she did.

"Alicent?"

Alicent whipped her head around so quick as to rip it clean off her neck. She wiped her eyes, which were blotchy and red, quite aggressively and stood to leave.

"Wait." Rhaenyra cried, her voice breaking. This caught her attention. "What's happened, Alicent?" She asked. Her eyes pleaded to answer, but Alicent solely responded with a shake of her head.

Her dark curls had gone askew. Rhaenyra took a step forward, and then another when Alicent didn't move away. Rhaenyra brought her hand up to Alicent's face and she braced for a blow. Rhaenyra's mouth fell open slightly with surprise. She waited for Alicent to lean into her hand, then she tucked her hair behind her ear and stepped back.

"Has your father been hitting you?" She asked.

"No." Alicent whispered.

"Come with me." Rhaenyra slid her hand down Alicent's arm and entwined their fingers together.

"Rhaenyra, I can't-"

"You can." She said. As soon as Alicent met her eyes Rhaenyra knew she would come. "Can't we just be people? Put out duties aside for one day?"

"Such as when I took you to the docks?"

"Yes, but this will be more fun."

"Rhaenyra, no. I am not doing that."

"Why not?" Rhaenyra asked her as they stood outside of the dragon pit.

"I've already told you-"

"Come on, just one time." She slid their fingers together again and could feel Alicent relax as their palms met.

"Fine."

"Really!?" Rhaenyra asked, surprised she had actually agreed. Alicent nodded and Rhaenyra had to all but drag her to Syrax.

Syrax yawned as Rhaenyra pulled Alicent closer. Alicent's hair was blown out of her face by the beast a second later, causing her to step back.

"It'll be fine, Alicent. Syrax can do no harm while I'm here. She doesn't even notice your presence." Rhaenyra cooed in Alicent's ear. She watched as a smile spread across Alicent's face. "Come."

Rhaenyra didn't give her a choice before pulling her hand up to Syrax's golden scales and pressing it firm. Syrax took notice of Alicent's fear and leaned into her hand.

"She likes it when you scratch." Rhaenyra whispered letting go of Alicent's hand slowly. She walked over to Syrax's neck and scratched just where she liked it, on her jaw. She was surprised when Alicent reached her arm around her body and began scratching Syrax, hesitantly, where she was.

Syrax let out a soft growl and Alicent startled and began to pull her hand away. "No." Rhaenyra said pulling her hand back. "She likes it."

Alicent laughed when as soon as she began scratching, Syrax let out a ground shaking growl.

Rhaenyra in twined their hands once again and lead Alicent to Syrax's hind right leg. She climbed onto the dragons back and glanced at Alicent to see if she was coming.
