Alicent
Alicent paced through her bed chambers and picking at her fingers. She knew why she had to shut Rhaenyra out, but it still felt wrong. She knew her father would be delighted with this information, but that didn't make her feel better. Quite frankly it made her feel worse.
Alicent always knew she was a weakling when it came to her father, but she didn't like to be. She learned to live with it over the years, and at times she appreciated it. When she did what her father wanted, she was rewarded with praise, but when she didn't, she suffered the consequences.
If she continued just as she had before, with Rhaenyra, she would suffer the consequences and so would Rhaenyra. She couldn't risk it. It wasn't worth losing her favorite person, and her father.
She looked in the mirror and then down at her hand. The little dragon hair pin lay flat on her skin, glistening with the candlelight. A small tear slid down her cheek and landed on the little golden trinket before she closed her hand tightly and shoved the pin into a drawer on her vanity.

The next morning Alicent got ready with the sun. She rifled through her closet looking for something to wear that would fit, but she had grown a fair amount in the last two years. She had almost given up hope before her hand grazed a familiar fabric. She pulled the light green dress out of the closet and placed it on her bed.
It was her favorite dress when she was younger, and it looked like it too. The rims of the fabric were fraying slightly and some of the little embroidered lavender flowers were falling apart, but aside from that, it looked just like it had when she left.
She pulled it over her head and laced up the back. She spun to look at herself in the mirror and smiled. It fit perfectly.

"Princess! Your escort is here!" A member of the kingsguard called into the princess's door. There was no response, as was anticipated, but after a few more requests the Princess sauntered out of her room. Without even glancing at Alicent she started walking towards the garden.
Once they arrived at the garden, Rhaenyra sat down in her usual spot, which Alicent could tell was used frequently by the lack of grass in the area. She sat down next to Rhaenyra and opened her book. She began to read.
She spent hours reading, until her throat was so stiff that she could barely make sound. She shut the book and leaned back against the weirwood.
"The septa will be angry if you stop reading!" Rhaenyra said smirking and looking over at Alicent. She looked back at her, attempting to keep a straight face but she couldn't. She smiled and looked away.
"I missed you more than I care to admit." Alicent confessed gazing at the clouds.
"Me too." Rhaenyra said intertwining her pinky with Alicent's.
They sat in silence for hours until they both drifted off to sleep.
