9- The Elders...

Clotted Cream holds up his sketchbook, "Finally, it's finished! My fanart for Sagefeather's MalShift fic!"

He sets it down and takes a picture of it.

"Wait... How am I gonna send this to them? They don't have any socials listed on their profile."

He writes a comment on the newest chapter, Hey Sagefeather! I drew some fanart for your fic c: how can I send it to you?

He sets his phone down, "Should I get ready for dinner?"

He checks his watch, "Oh goodness! I should!"

He shoves his phone in his pocket, tucks his snake arms under his clothes, then runs downstairs.

All of the Elders are here, minus Oyster.

Custard smiles, "Welcome, fellow Elders, to the bi-weekly congregation! We shall start with some great news. CusTech was reviewed by the Hero HQ and found to be the most useful hero tech company in the city!"

Clotted Cream rolls his eyes, thinking to himself, "For all the wrong reasons..."

Mulled Juice hits his hands on the table, "Hero tech is POINTLESS if all it does is destroy the city it tries to protect!"

"If we didn't have superheroes, who would fight the supervillains? The Almonds? They still haven't caught Chili Pepper."

Sable sighs, "What do you have against her? She's entertaining and knows how to capture an audience, in a metaphorical sense. Why do you think I've funded her?"

Clotted Cream pipes up, "Plus, the heroes use her to find out when and where crime is happening. She's reliably at the crime scene while it's happening."

Vanilla Sugar shakes her cane, "If we let one villain off with an excuse, soon we'll let all of them run about! Like what your.." She points at Clotted Cream with her cane, "Your poster child hero is doing with Killer Kitty!"

Clotted Cream sinks slightly in his chair, "He's different.."

Sable gasps, "Oh! This is what the media's going crazy about! Forbidden love between a hero and a villain!"

Clotted Cream sinks lower in his chair, "Please stop.."

Mille-fuille, who's sitting next to Clotted Cream, pinches his cheek, "Aww, Clotted Cream has a crush? That's so sweet!"

Custard clears his throat, "Please retain professional behavior at the table..."

Caviar drinks some juice before chuckling, "Imagine that. Your own son in love with a villain! And you call yourself the Elder of Heroes."

"Clotted Cream is not in love with Killer Kitty! He's not in love with ANY villains whatsoever."

Clotted Cream mumbles, "Yeah.."

Sable leans on the table slightly for dramatic effect, "But could you imagine if he was? The media would eat it up! In fact, it already has. Everyone is convinced that The Consul and Killer Kitty are secretly dating."
