20- Pretty Kitty

The Paladin made a great mental recovery! She's currently bullying Maladin in the rec room.

Kouign-Amann pinches the bridge of her nose, "Financier, please leave him alone. He looks like you kicked him 47 times in the chest."

"It was only 46 times! Mentally. And one physically because I tripped over his FIVE SHIELDS!"

Maladin is curled up on the floor, "They're the only barriers I have!!"

Over on the couch, Capsaicin is poking one of Clotted Cream's snake arms, "Woah! Were you born with these?!"

The snake arm moves away from Capsaicin while Clotted frowns, "No."

Prune Juice crosses his arms, "Oh, so they're magic?"

"Not that either. I never had any powers."

"Hero tech? How expensive was it?"

"Years of psychological torture." He also crosses his arms, "It was free!"

"HOW?!"

Clotted squeezes his arms slightly, "Ohhhh y'know... My dad owns CusTech.. This is just some experimental technology."

"Ah, so you're a privileged asshole!"

Capsaicin gasps like a disappointed mother, "Prune! Be nice! How will you ever make more friends if you're mean to people?"

"I didn't want any friends at all, but you two FORCED me into a friendship! I just want to beat bad guys with my potions!"

Someone's phone dings. Clotted immediately checks his phone, then smiles, "Oh! I gotta go fight KK now! See you guys later!"

He puts on his mask and walks out, his tail wagging.

Prune turns to the only other unoccupied hero, "Who's KK?"

Espresso looks up from his cup of coffee, "Killer Kitty. The one who kidnapped Financier."

Prune narrows his eyes, "So why was he so happy to leave?"

Espresso shrugs, "Probably the same dumb reason Madeleine was so happy to fight me."

"Aren't you two married?"

Espresso glares at Madeleine, "I WISH WE WERE!"

Madeleine sobs, "I SWEAR I'M TRYING TO FIND THE RINGS!"

Prune turns to the door, "Hmm.."

Meanwhile, Killer Kitty is stealing food from a food truck, for old time's sake.

"PUT THE FOOD IN THE BAG!"

"OK FINE I- Food???"

"Yes! And make sure it's FRESH! I'm gonna eat it."

"So why do you need the bag?"

"It's a to-go order!"

Mango holds up his hands, "Ok ok! I'll make the food!"
