"Babe." Nayeon hesitatingly asks the girl, sitting on the bedroom's floor with her.
Jeongyeon answers while munching on the pizza she has just put in her mouth. "What?"
They are still in the council treasurer's room with two small boxes of pizza opened widely on the floor and a big two liter bottle of diet soda with two paper cups beside it. There is also another box with fried chicken in it and an oddly out of place salad platter that Jeongyeon insisted on ordering for the soccer manager.
"Do— When do you—" Nayeon sips on some soda to down the remaining lettuce she was eating. "When do you want me to start explaining why I did... lie to you?"
"Hmm..." Jeongyeon continued munching on her food, busying herself while thinking. Nayeon is just silently watching her, patiently waiting for a fortunate response.
After that moment they had earlier, the soccer manager's stomach started to growl in hunger. Her girlfriend insisted that they get food first before talking the misunderstanding out. Since it's already lunch time and they don't have time to cook anything fancy, they decided to just order from a nearby pizza shop.
"Hmm..." Jeongyeon just kept humming while continuing to eat, making it look like she was in deep contemplation of what to answer.
Nayeon's face began to be filled with worry. "Please tell me you're not changing your mind and thinking of kicking me out of the house again?"
"No!" The council treasurer faintly chuckles. "Sorry. Did I give you some kind of trauma?"
Nayeon simply rolls her eyes. She reached out for a chicken and consecutively bites on it, still willing to wait for a proper reply from the other girl in the room.
Eating in Jeongyeon's room is one of the habits the girlfriends have developed over their seven years of dating. Usually, they would go on a late night movie watching in the council treasurer's room with popcorn, chips, mojos, marshmallows, jellies, or whatever food they decide to have that night.
"Then..." The council treasurer stands up to get her phone from the bedside table, then treads to get back and sit beside her girlfriend. "Here. Use my phone and call that stupid Son Chaeyoung and your sister who I absolutely love but don't want to talk to for now."
"Hu— Huh?" The soccer manager slowly reaches out the mobile device. "Why?"
"What do you mean 'why'?" Jeongyeon looked at her unamused. "You three were all in this together, right? Then you all three should explain to me!"
"B— But—"
"What— Hey!" The council treasurer points a finger to her girlfriend. "Are you siding with them? Don't tell me you're even going to defend them?"
"No. That's not it!" Nayeon quickly waved her hands in dismissal. She looks to the floor and pouts while softly shaking her head. "I— It's like that, Jeongyeonie."
Jeongyeon stifles her smile that she retracted oh-so immediately, obviously trying her best to maintain a tough composure in the current situation. "I'm still not hearing your reason so don't be so confident with yourself. We're still not clearing whatever misunderstanding this is, okay?"
The soccer manager maintains her slumped shoulder and pout. She simply nods in response like a kid who didn't have a choice but obey parent rules.
The council treasurer bites her lip at what seems to be an adorable sight in front of her. She quickly shakes her head a bit and clears her throat. "Go. Tell them to meet us in that coffee shop that is near the school. That one store that Sana likes the most. Make it clear to them that you all three still owe me an explanation. A very thorough one, if I may add."
"O— okay, boss. What time should I ask them to come?"
"Hmm... Do you want to shower first before going out?"
"Yeah. I will also change my clothes." Nayeon squints at the girl in front of her. "Hey, you didn't throw my clothes in your closet, did you?"
Since there are days that Nayeon stays with Jeongyeon's family in their house, there are already two drawers in the council treasurer's closet that are full of her girlfriend's clothes. That is not to mention the soccer manager's things scattered all over Jeongyeon's room like a toothbrush, beauty products, and other personal stuff.
"Of course, not!" Jeongyeon chuckles. "Your things are still right where you exactly left them."
The soccer manager giggles and moves to snuggle to her girlfriend's arms. "Thank you, baby."
Jeongyeon's face softens and kisses Nayeon's temple. "Now, tell those two to meet us two hours from now. Do you think you'd be ready by then?"
"Yep! But..." The soccer manager innocently asks. "What if they have classes?"
"Do you think I care?" The council treasurer scoffs and points a finger to Nayeon. "You. Tell me. Don't you have classes today?"
"Y— Yeah. I do."
"How about me?" Jeongyeon moves her pointy finger to herself. "I also have classes today, right?"
Nayeon softly nods.
"You and I haven't been able to go to school for three days straight now because of this mess that you three made." The council treasurer scoffs again. "So, should I even try and care if those two have classes right now? I'm the victim here. You all should adjust to me."
"Tha— That's right! I'm telling them now." The soccer manager swiftly enters the password on her girlfriend's phone, evidently having it fully memorized. "I'll first drop a message to Tzu since I know she always checks her inbox, always in constant messaging with Sana."
"Okay."
Nayeon started composing a plain message to her sister containing Jeongyeon's explicit instructions. Then, she immediately puts the phone to her ear after some tapping and eventually dialing a number. "Hello, Chaeyoung? It's Nayeon. I'm at Jeongyeon's house right now and... she wants us to talk."
