28 : Kisses and Insecurities

Right after the lock to the room clicked, Chaeyoung swiftly opened the door and tugged Mina inside, not giving the council president a chance to even go on another barrage of protests that the latter was surely about to make.

And right after the door was closed, Mina's body followed to softly lean into it with Chaeyoung gently pushing her body onto her.

The council president wasn't given a chance to react further because the action was immediately followed by a pair of familiar hands cupping her face. Before Mina could know it, Chaeyoung already has her captured in a kiss.

At the first second, Mina's eyes were wide open and her body was stiff, obviously caught in shock.

The next second, right when Chaeyoung started moving her lips, the council president was instantly lost to the sensation. She slowly closed her eyes, responding equally to the pace of the other girl's lips. Her hands quickly started to wander about, finding and ruffling the soccer ace's hair.

Chaeyoung, on the contrary, kept her right hand steady on the council president's cheek while the other slithered its way to Mina's waist.

Their kisses were soft but lingering, not rushed but definitely filled with want, having a tinge of lust but at the same time laced with pure sincerity.

And they just kept kissing for who knows how long.

When Chaeyoung felt the need for air, she hesitatingly leaned back. She gazes right into Mina's eyes and mumbled in a low voice. "Myoi Mina. You're pretty. You're smart. You're talented. Your body is perfect. Your complexion is perfect. Your smile and the way you laugh is too perfect. You're everything that a perfect girl would have. In my eyes, you are all those perfect things and even so much more."

"Re— really?"

"Really." Chaeyoung smiles at her sweetly. "Your eyes..." She leans in to kiss Mina's eyes. "Your nose..." She moves to peck her nose. "Your cheeks." She hovers over to give both the council president's already blushing cheeks a kiss. "And your lips..." And Chaeyoung gives Mina a lasting peck on the lips. "Everything about you is just so perfect for me that sometimes I'm not sure if you're even real. But with all of this... you still easily get so jealous, Minari—"

And right after the last syllable of the council president's name rolled off the soccer ace's tongue, for the first time in all their history of physical connection, the one and only Myoi Mina initiated a kiss.

It was a simple, steady kiss. It didn't have any other lip movement like the earlier long one they just had.

But, how Mina did it said a lot more than it should be.

The way she swiftly pulled the upper hem of the soccer ace's shirt towards her with one hand. The way her eyes dug deep into Chaeyoung's orbs like she was willing to take everything and give everything at the same time. The way her other hand gripped the smaller girl's waist as she closed their distance. The way she crashed her lips right into Chaeyoung without any trace of hesitation.

It was supposed to be a simple chaste kiss yet none of how Mina did it made it look as simple as it was supposed to be.

As soon as their lips lose contact, Mina gazes deeply into Chaeyoung's eyes with a now more confident tone. "Why? Do you have a problem with me being jealous?"

The soccer ace bits her own lower lip, stifling a playful smirk as she glances on Mina's lips, then back to her eyes. "No. None. I think I might actually like it now when you're jealous."

"Hey." Mina slowly widens her eyes and scoffs playfully. "Is this what you meant earlier when you said you would knock some sense into me?"

"Yeah." Chaeyoung quickly answers in between faint chuckles. "It is. This is exactly what I had in mind."

"Wow." The council president rolled her eyes while stifling a wide gummy smile. "You already developed this habit of kissing me to shut me up, don't you?"

"Why?" The soccer ace gives her a smug look. "I think it's always a hundred percent effective. Won't you agree?"

"Still—"

"Plus, I'm sure there's no way I could win with you on a proper verbal argument."

The council president proudly looks at her. "Now, that's a fairly good point."

"Ugh." Chaeyoung playfully rolls her eyes. "Why does my girl have to have it all, huh?"

The council president mumbles to herself. "My— My girl..."

"Why do you have to be so pretty and so smart and so talented at the same time, huh?" Chaeyoung continued to speak confidently, utilizing the effects she notices her words do on Mina. "But I think there's just one problem about you."

"What? What are you—"

"You can't hide your emotions, Minari. You blush so easily even at my simple words." The soccer ace faintly chuckles in teasing. "I bet if we're in public, everyone would know at the drop of the hat that you like Son Chaeyoung."

"Hey, I don't blush easily!" Mina suddenly hits Chaeyoung's arm in response, not sure how to react to all the flattery she is receiving. "And what's with that overly confident statement about yourself, huh? How could you be so sure that I like you?!"

"Umm... You just kissed me."

"I—"

"For the first time. If I may add." Chaeyoung flashes a naughty smirk. "Well, that is If we're not counting all those other times where you actually kissed me back."

"CHAEY—"

"Myoi Mina just kissed—"

"Stop it!" And the council president who is now indeed red as a tomato has started hitting the smaller girl all over continuously. Chaeyoung was shielding herself with her arms from the hits of Mina's hands that are surely just soft and playful.

"Hey!" The soccer player is now loudly chuckling at her. "You should see your face in the mirror right now!"

And the two girls simply both burst into laughter for a moment, in clear teasing and bliss at each other's company.
