"What happened over there?" Bow was clearly concerned as Adora drifted towards him, clutching her purse like it was a lifeline.

"She drunkenly told me how she almost cheated on me last weekend. Saw another blonde and thought it was me," Adora whispered, careful to keep her voice hidden from prying ears. Bow nearly dropped his champagne glass, the concern deepening.

"Are you alright?"

Adora took a breath, glancing at Catra before looking back at him.

"Yeah, fine. Sorta." She gave a meek smile, giving herself a hug by wrapping her hands around her forearms.

"But she didn't do it, right?"

"No, but she was close to. I don't really know how to feel about that. She said she was sorry, but..." Adora gripped her arms tighter, shrugging. Bow pursed his lips, Glimmer wandering over to see what the fuss was about.

"What's going on guysss?" She looked at least three drinks in herself, but Bow's sentence sobered her up pretty quickly.

"Catra nearly cheated on Adora last weekend, that's what's going on." Unlike Bow, Glimmer actually did drop her champagne glass, the crystal cracking on the marble floor.

"Shit!" She sprang back, waiters and cleaners appearing from who knows where to tidy up the mess. Glimmer hurriedly thanked them, going bright red as half of the room turned to look at her. Bow quickly pulled both Adora and Glimmer into a nearby corner.

"No way did she cheat," Glimmer exclaimed.

"Did you not listen? Almost cheated, emphasis on almost," Bow repeated. Glimmer furrowed her eyebrows.

"That little shit, I'm gonna go chew her brains out right this motherfuc-"

"Easy, Glim," Adora rested her hands on her shoulders.

"You're not sober right now, and we're attending a heavily publicized function. I think yelling at Catra would only cause more problems for us. So let's not do that, 'kay?"

Adora was getting stressed out herself. On one hand, she wanted to throw something at Catra as much as Glimmer did, and on the other hand (the more logical hand), she knew she should just ignore it for the night. Not to mention a part of her also felt like going home and crying for an hour straight. Too many conflicting emotions, too many colliding ideas...now all she felt like doing was screaming.

"This is what's going to happen," Bow started off, looking at the two of them.

"We're going to smile and pretend like everything's perfect."

"That sounds hard, like really hard," Adora muttered.

"I know, but Glimmer and I will hardly leave your side, and we're keeping Catra far, far away from you tonight."

"Don't worry, I'll slap her tomorrow for you," Glimmer grumbled, folding her arms tightly across her chest.

"You're going to have fun, Adora. And it's just a few more hours, after that we can get out of here and go get ice cream."

Adora met the dark brown eyes, a weak smile forcing its way onto her face.

"Okay," she agreed. Bow returned the smile, guiding the two girls to their seats. Adora sat down in the plush gold brushed chair, staring at her place card to distract herself.

"Evening, Darling." She instantly smiled at the greeting, twisting in her seat to look up at Double Trouble. They looked quite extraordinary, wearing a dazzling teal jumpsuit with heels higher than Adora could fathom wearing, let alone walking in. They brandished a rose from some concealed pocket, their silver eyeliner glittering as the lights dimmed. Adora accepted the flower, examining the inky dark red of it.
